Thanks. Been offered £900 off by another dealer. Watch is a keeper so resale value isn't really a worry. Thoughts?

Cheers mate. That's a 31. The one offered was a new 36 never worn with box and papers.

Just took my first jump into Rolex. I would have ideally loved a coloured bezel gmt/sub/maybe a hulk but couldn't find anything at the right price/seller I was happy with etc.

Watches of Wales posted a late 2015 gmt master ii in black yesterday, £5150, seemed like a great price for a mint example with all papers etc. Rang them, great guys, enthusiastic and well informed answering all my noob questions. Also offered a small discount.

Interestingly they said demand was massive at the minute, sports rolex barely sat 24 hours. AD's have little in stock (Belfast have absolutely nothing) and values of used ones could get another small lift should the anticipated rise actually take place.

If you're buying from an AD, you'll be able to reclaim the VAT once you and the watches permanently leave the EU. There is a luxury goods tax and duty into Australia of c10% or so.

Cheers

Do you have any news on the rumoured price increase?
No. According to various sources it was supposed to be August 1st. It can't be long before a rise, if the Pound continues to struggle against Swiss Franc.
Latest rumour I've seen is 8.8% increase from tomorrow (3rd Sept) ....... but I'll believe it when I see it. But with PP increase last month and I believe AP applying an increase a few days ago on the 1st, I'd be surprised if Rolex don't put UK prices up very soon.

I listened to the rumour that the increase would be effective on the 1st August so pulled the trigger on my purchase, I am sure they will go up as to when who knows, the AD,s must love this panic buying!!

So this is how it is with Rolex....
September price increase of up to 12%
You WONT get a discount from a AD on any model at the moment especially a Sub/daytona/gmt sport models, maybe on a Date Just..
i wouldn't worry about grey market purchases, they are all covered by Rolex 5 year warranty and after all its them who will service it.i use Kendrick&son in Essex... another thing.. Used Rolex's are a good option Hatton garden is a perfect window shopping area. also download the app Chrono 24 to get a idea of prices....

How about this, no price increase this year from Rolex. UK has become one of the fastest growing markets for the Swiss watch industry and is making up for losses in HK and other Asian markets. Especially after sterling lost value against other currencies. So if they increase prices they'll kill the goose that lays the golden egg. By keeping the imminent price imminent for as long as possible they keep the hype and the demand up.

Someone on another forum suggested Rolex hq wanted to put up the price but Rolex uk didn't want to, and it's currently a stand off.

Really no-one knows.
