I can't help with straps. But food wise, a good Ostrich stir fry is excellent.

Generally not a fan, especially if not sourced sustainably.

Probably one of the most diverse and customisable outlets/makers; although as they are French I've no idea on the sustainability aspect.

For some reason I quite fancied the blue Stingray, never got round to it though thank gawd...

Don't have an issue, they've got to do something with the leftovers after making all the handbags and shoes, so why not straps, better than throwing it away. Many of the animals are farmed for their meat and skins etc, as long as the whole animal is used rather than a specific 'part' then dumped I'm ok with it

Most exotic leathers are ok, as the animal is eaten, stingray is a food item, gator I think is largely farmed in the US and shot.
I do have BIG issues with snake skin, as it is almost always Python, that is rarely a food item as it is uber tough, (the snakes that are eaten are usually not constrictors) they are also almost always skinned alive, it is really barbaric what happens.
If you fancy a stingray strap try VNHANDCRAFTS on Etsy, they are great for the price.

I was looking for a new strap for one of mine and was recommended [url=http://www.ethan-o.com/]this site[url] on another forum although as it's based in Hong Kong I can't imagine the the leather is ethically sourced.

So much unnecessary suffering to animals in the name of vanity (whether handbags, watch straps, belts etc). Watch industry should take a lead and not use them
