it's thursday for a start... a lot of ££ to spend on something you think is tasteless!!!But it's a lot of money to spaff on something I'd wear infrequently and my wife would hate me wearing it.

Purchased this bit of over the top tastelessness this morning ....totally mint with all the paperwork, 1 owner who purchased it from Boodles
Does it get positive or negative attention when you go out, what kind of things do people say?
Also I imagine its a nightmare to maintain, which gold being such a soft metal and scratching so easily.

Hi All,
So I am collecting my first ever Rolex (first ever 'proper' Swiss watch as a matter of fact) this Friday, in typical fashion I want to try and squeeze every last penny of benefit out of the deal I can!
My questions to all you seasoned watch buyers, can I expect to receive any specific accessories with my watch? Is there anything I should specifically ask for when I collect the piece? Or just anything I should ask/look out for when collecting.
Cheers
Bought my first Rolex in Fiji, 1966. Rolex 'Speedking'. Lasted for years, still have it but no longer working. So I am collecting my first ever Rolex (first ever 'proper' Swiss watch as a matter of fact) this Friday, in typical fashion I want to try and squeeze every last penny of benefit out of the deal I can!

Get it sorted out then. Lovely looking watch and restored sympathetically would be a lovely thing to own and wear. You took the words right out of my mouth, take it to a watch maker ASAP

I overwound the Speedking thus breaking the mechanism. But I have fond memories of the timepiece.
Bought a few hookey Rolex over the years in Beijing and Bangkok. All eventually failed, but good to wear.
My favourite fake? A TAG Monaco. Still working and looking good.

Ignore the jealous haters that is a lovely timepiece
There haven't been any jealous haters, have there? It was Gouldylocks himself that denigrated the watch, I said it was a nice piece. michael gould said:

HIS LM told you to "ignore the jealous haters" because he clearly hadn't read the discussion properly
the people that said nice things about your watch told HIS LM he hadn't read the discussion properly
the end
not really a shame or mistaken irony.
