Purchased this bit of over the top tastelessness this morning ....totally mint with all the paperwork, 1 owner who purchased it from Boodles
it's thursday for a start... a lot of ££ to spend on something you think is tasteless!!!
I quite like 'em.

But it's a lot of money to spaff on something I'd wear infrequently and my wife would hate me wearing it.
yes my wife hates it ......but it was my brothers and he sold it to me at "family rates" so I thought ........don't have a Rolex so might as well have the vulgar one
If you were looking for a vulgar one you should have gone for one of the sports models in gold. Nope, the day-date is quite alright. You'll just have to make up for that fact by being obnoxious yourself.
thanks ...love you to.....let me guess .....your a TAG owner ? smile

Very nice! it must be an occasion every-time you wear the watch, you will have to keep us updating on what its like living with an all gold Roley.

Does it get positive or negative attention when you go out, what kind of things do people say?

Also I imagine its a nightmare to maintain, which gold being such a soft metal and scratching so easily.

I do own a TAG actually; not worn it in many a long year though. Early TAG Heuers were okay and it was, when new, the most accurate automatic I've owned.

Hi All,

So I am collecting my first ever Rolex (first ever 'proper' Swiss watch as a matter of fact) this Friday, in typical fashion I want to try and squeeze every last penny of benefit out of the deal I can!

My questions to all you seasoned watch buyers, can I expect to receive any specific accessories with my watch? Is there anything I should specifically ask for when I collect the piece? Or just anything I should ask/look out for when collecting.

Cheers smile
Bought my first Rolex in Fiji, 1966. Rolex 'Speedking'. Lasted for years, still have it but no longer working.

My brother bought his in Aden, 1961. Still going strong.

There haven't been any jealous haters, have there? It was Gouldylocks himself that denigrated the watch, I said it was a nice piece.

Get it sorted out then. Lovely looking watch and restored sympathetically would be a lovely thing to own and wear.

Thanks for the positive comments.

I overwound the Speedking thus breaking the mechanism. But I have fond memories of the timepiece.

Bought a few hookey Rolex over the years in Beijing and Bangkok. All eventually failed, but good to wear.

My favourite fake? A TAG Monaco. Still working and looking good.

I didn't call you obnoxious. You posted some weird st about your watch being tasteless. I basically said your watch isn't tasteless, if you want to project tastelessness you'll need to achieve that on your own.

That's the problem with these forums..........some people take everything literally and don't understand irony .....or the irony is lost somewhere .....I suppose it's a general problem of "modern" communication ..........such a shame

You said something which i believe most people assumed to be a self-deprecating comment
other people said nice things about your watch
HIS LM told you to "ignore the jealous haters" because he clearly hadn't read the discussion properly
the people that said nice things about your watch told HIS LM he hadn't read the discussion properly
the end

not really a shame or mistaken irony.
