Bought a Breitling from Barbados and it's faulty
Discussion
Thanks for the advice. I've just done it but realise i'll probably need to do it in the morning as I won't be wearing it tonight.
I'll see how it gets on over the next couple of days and let you know.
The process that you posted, what is the reason for having to do that? (Very much uneducated with this sort of thing)

The reason for the process is to make sure the watch is as fully wound as possible, and then see how long the power reserve is.
If it’s substantially less than specs, then there’s a problem – if not, then it indicates you weren’t moving your arm enough to make the rotor spin and wind it, hence the low PR and why it eventually stopped during the night.

Lovely looking watch you have there.
If things are still not right, use the authorised service centre and warranty. I had a service and battery change on my Breitling and from what I understand they totally dismantled the watch and rebuilt it replacing any worn parts.
On occasion, things are not right out of the factory and things do break, that's life. I would not be disappointed with the brand or watch, but help from the dealer you purchased from, yes.
Also don't be surprised that if it is a broken part, Breitling may just replace and send you a new one. I have heard of this happening before.

The problem is that I want a refund. I'm my experience, if something brand new is faulty then it won't be a good product.
As a designer of high availability, high redundancy top end systems, I assure you that no matter how well designed the product, how meticulously assembled and how thoroughly tested, st can and does still happen.Under UK law you are not entitled to a refund at this stage. I very much doubt that the law in Barbados is any different.
Both manufacturer and retailer are acting correctly by honouring the warranty.
You have the choice of liking it, or screaming and screaming until you are sick. They might cave just to make you go away, but I doubt they will.
