2004 Explorer II Polar F serial, first Rolex and over the moon with it!

Purchased from Dom (smooth transaction as you'd expect)

Congratulations, really lovely watch. 40mm is my sweet spot for case size, I'm really not keen on the new 42mm case.

Bought mine new in 2000, wore it every day for 10 years then gave it to my wife who still wears it to this day. One service, never had a problem, still worth the same as I bought it for, still looks smart, different from the usual. (Watch, not wife)/

I think this white-dial one is going to be at the top of the future used Rolex price appreciation curve. Might get one for £3,500 to tuck away. It will beat a cash ISA!

My hope is to wear it and it beat inflation!

In the long term, I'm sure the 40mm polar dial will out perform its 42mm equivalent. But no one has a crystal ball.Recently, the price of the old aluminium Submariner 16610LV Anniversary model is out performing the newer ceramic 116610LV. I've got an Oysterquartz tucked away I bought for relatively little, and I'm just waiting for the prices to start rising.smilesmilesmile

Love the OQ - I nearly pulled the trigger on a SS/18k one a couple of years back, they are so retro!

I've just bought a 2013 Polar Exp2, 42mm which I really love, the bracelet is much better than the previous model, although i would definitely have gone for the Polar Exp2 40mm if i didn't already have a 1999 16610
