Abbreviation frequently goes hand in hand with a lack of knowledge. The company was Heuer. TAG saved them. LVHM are the villains here.

Not really, I know the history. But you are in the watch section and whether you say TAG Heuer, Tag or tag everyone knows who you mean.

I have various watches and my first "proper" watch was a Rolex. It was awful with fault after fault, it went back and I bought a Carrera. It is the nicest watch to wear, classy on any occasion and still my favourite one.

My Omega Planet Ocean is beautiful and catches many a persons eye due the the bright colour, nice to wear but lacks a certain something.

I buy watches that please me, but then again I buy them because I like them, they are not investments, they are not something to say look at me and how rich I may or may not be. It is the workmanship that I like.

I've got a couple (well 4) of TAG watches although one is branded HEUER, bought at discounted rates, the only downside to automatics is the cost of servicing, although that will be the case whatever the maker, there will always be people who bash brands that they don't like/approve of so as long as the owner is happy why give a toss.

Surely this is the best reason for anyone to buy a watch. Doesn't matter if other people don't like it- they aren't wearing it...

As I said earlier, I quite like several of the TAG range, but I don't think they represent good value. However, if cost isn't a major consideration, then simply liking it is plenty good enough

Absolutely it is. I don't know why, but some people seem to care excessively what others think about their purchases. Who cares? I wear a Timex, or one of 2 Seikos most days. If someone doesn't like any of them, that's up to them. It's my wrist and I don't need their approval.

If you like TAG or anything else, buy one. It's your wrist.

Interesting article in todays' Daily Telegraph about watches, specifically, collecting vintage Heuer watches from the 60's & 70's......

I've just bought one of these. After reading all the negative stuff on here about Tag Heuer I just decided I like the watch so got it. Don't really care what anyone thinks about it.

Love these.

Considering the ceramic version.

Congrats.
