Hi guys, just been told by my AD that I need a new watch case because of crown tube thread stripping. Reason is given as: after many years of use bla bla it's worn out- watch is only 8 years old, kind of expected better.
I checked a couple of older chats but I haven't found anything recent. Does anyone know if there is a cheaper fix than case change?
And I haven't asked my AD but can the new case also have the same problem a few years down the line?
Thanks in advance.

Have a chat with the Breitling Service Centre in Tunbridge Wells. They should be able to tell you what needs to be done and how much it will cost you:

They gave my 2003 Blackbird a full service a few years ago and it came back like brand new.

My Superocean was only 10 months old when the thread in the tube went, it's a known fault , Brietling have had loads of problems with these threads

As above, check with the service centre directly rather than taking the AD's word on it. I'd be more than surprised if the tube couldn't be replaced and the watch repaired however it would, I think, be technically a lot easier just to bung the existing movement into a new case rather than repair the existing case/tube.
