Yes, I have my nomex suit donned.

I have been looking at the Formula 1 range a little recently, but I'm really struggling to get to grips with the sizes. I tried a few on at the Bicester Village store a few weeks ago, but they were all 41mm which is just too small for my 'ample' wrists.

Some websites are listing a couple of models as being 43mm, does anyone know if there are different case sizes or are they just measured differently?

For example, the Senna edition featured here is listed as 43mm: http://www.swisswatchesdirect.co.uk/watch/waz1012....

Just hoping to get some clarification before having to trek around the country to try more on!

Thanks all

The Formula 1 range is regularly overhauled by TAG. Almost certainly the watches at Bicester are discontinued. A quick look at the Tagheuer website shows most F1's are 43mm.

Talking about Heuer.
I ve got a Heuer Trackmaster stopwatch used in the 70s for timing rally stages. Have asked Heuer wherher it is of any value both at Bicester and e mail to them at their HQ.
Nobody seems to recognise the model!? Anybody know of it?

I bought my Senna Edition in August after having F1 chronos for years, and it is certainly bigger and deeper on the wrist.

I've polished mine up since then, it is no longer the dull brushed effect on the bracelet but highly polished face and bracelet, I love it.

Not the F1 range , my wife bought me a black faced 2000 model about 25 years ago , always liked that watch .

No idea if it's worth anything now , but I've still got all the boxes that came with it.

Just found that article , an interesting read.

Out of interest, what are the prices in Bicester? I normally get around 20% off of Tag, and wondering if Bicester will be better.

I pre-ordered mine and paid full RRP of £1200, I believe if you look around you will find one cheaper

Not sure you'll see these at Bicester, as that is an "outlet" type store which sells end of line models not the current range, as the Senna Edition is.

How much was the polishing and where did you get it done?
Stunning watch by the way!

I do it myself, always have on my watches, just a Cape Cod polishing cloth and a bit of elbow grease!

They are a lovely watch, TAG are often maligned on here but personally I've always loved them.

It's hard to judge from your pic but how does the end result, using a Cape Cod polishing cloth, compare to say the polished finish on a Breitling?
Also is the Senna limited edition a standard watch, a chrono or available as both? This thread shows photo's of both.

I can't answer the polishing question, but the Senna edition is available as both chrono and non-chrono versions.

I haven't much knowledge of Breitling watches I'm afraid, but done carefully by hand, the Cape Cod polishing cloths are brilliant, they give an almost chrome-like finish

The watch catches light beautifully now, much better than the original matt brushed effect which scratched every time it touched anything

Sounds good and is definitely something I might have a go at if I can find myself a nice Senna chrono edition at a good price over Christmas.
Is there any particular Cape Cod polishing cloth to go for and how do you protect the bezel and glass?

I bought this kit.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/CAPE-COD-POLISH-CO-INC/dp...

No need to protect the glass or bezel, it brings everything up lovely.

Read instructions before use though, and keep it well away from your mouth.

I'm larger than average and wear a 35mm TAG Heuer F1 on a NATO strap most weekdays. No problem at all.
