I think with the characters you get glimpses of it has better potential than the last two (which were both pretty st)

Few shots of what could potentially be Unicron...and what looks like Primus/Cybertron attacking the moon - though not clear at all

I have hope

It has been long since we had any hope.

Hope of what? That he's made a less good, more explodey version of the peerless animated film?

My only interest is that they shot some of it in the North East and Newcastle city centre. Seems a bit incongruous.

Isn't it set in a post-apocalyptic waste land?

The NE seems about right.

I was at Bamburgh castle the day after they were shooting there. The main car park was shut because the film crews were still packing up, the bastids.

That part of the film will be ok, just look at the scenery. Rest of it will not be as good.

I'm going to hazard a few wild guesses about the film

- the trailer will be far more exciting than the actual film
- it will be about 3 hours long
- full of fights between opponents that look completely identical so you can't tell what's going on
- people running from explosions in slo mo
- 360 degree shots of a fight
- pervy, low angle shots of the female lead
- the Chinese being show as super efficient and highly competent
- Rotten Tomatoes score below 20%
- the internet will hate it
- it will make loads of money
