Liking that strap, works well with the watch IMO.

It reminds me a little of an Ohio that I used to have, it was too small for my tastes back then so I moved it on.

The strap came from a Engineer 11 Green Beret that the seller had swapped to a alligator style leather strap (No accounting for taste smile )
Liking the look of the Ohio
Of course with my girly wrist size the 40mm is fine beer

My cheapest watch - love it.
I'm liking this... may I ask the model and where you got it?

It looks like a Seiko skx 007, it's a classic design. They do a larger one, the 009, and a smaller one, 013, iirc. All classic divers watches, reasonably priced abd very robust.

The SKX007 and 009 are exactly the same watch except for the bezel insert and dial (both black on the 007, blue dial with a blue/red insert on the 009), they're the same size smile The 013 uses the same movement in a slightly smaller case and is all black as per the 007.

Andy's watch is actually an SKXA53 aka Black Bullet, named so due to the bullet shaped hour markers and black dial, other colours were available though the watch has been discontinued for some time. Original 53s are identical to the 007/9 except for the chapter ring and dial, except Andy's is modified with a bead blasted case, bezel and crown with its chapter ring, crystal and handset swapped for aftermarket parts. The strap is a Time Factors Retro which is based upon the style of the ISOfrane originals. How do I know all this? The watch used to be mine...

Andy - glad you're still enjoying it thumbup

Edit to add an old 'photo of mine.

The strap has actually been changed to an Isofrane, but that aside - perfectly described.

EDIT. Think I'm getting mixed up. How do the EU and Us ones differ? I've found three faces. Yours, one identical to yours but without the inverted triangle under 12 o clock position and then one with the five minute numbers all round the face. I'm confused.
Apologies if I have misunderstood, but it's an alarm watch, so the big triangle will be in whatever position you have set it. In thealphabeta's photo the alarm is set to go off at 12am/pm and in the photo you linked to it is set for 6am/pm.

Here's a video of an old Memovax being set.

Thanks, that's interesting. The Seiko divers range is vast abd confusing, even before you start with mods. I'd like to try one on, at the moment I'm not sure which I prefer. I still love my Alpinist and my cheapo green military job, but I do keep looking at 007s and 013s.

That's the one yep. It is indeed the alarm and it's a wonderful thing. Always amazes people myself included.

Good luck bagging yourself one. You won't regret it

Servicing my motorcycle today so I'm wearing my least valuable watch. It was a 21st Birthday present back in 1986 and is still going strong. I change the batteries myself these days. Not worth a lot but I still have a soft spot for it.

It's probably worth more than you think, wish I hadn't sold mine a few years ago!

Wow, I thought it was worth about £100, I still have original paperwork, box and unused rubber strap.

Thanks, it's a real favourite of mine. I bought it as a dress watch, then hated to see the annual calendar function going unused in the safe so made it my daily! Only really use other watches when I first get them or weather's good enough to go out on the sea.

My one of those disappeared in the last house move about 4 years ago. I was gutted as it was my first 'proper' branded watch. Cost me the princely sum of £72 back in 1989!
