After the AP ROO Ceramic - time for another new acquisition - something less in your face.
Parmiginani Fleurer Tonda 1950 Special Edition Abyss Blue. Dial is meteorite and changes according to light conditions and angle..

Back is rather attractive too - micro rotor means the watch is very thin.

I think that's the first Parmigiani that I've seen on WC, I can see how that would work as a foil to the ROO. Lovely.

Out of curiosity, where there any others that you considered? The Tonda's dial reminds me of Moser.

Yes I have been looking at Moser - in particular the Perpetual Calendar but a big drawback for me is the fact that it is manual winding.
Others considered were Laurent Ferrier Traveller, Girard Perregaux 1966, ALS Saxonia Moon Phase (but this is too similar to my Saxonia Annual Calendar)
The Parmigiani won because it is under the radar, the combination of Abyss Blue Metoerite dial, Rose Gold case with dark blue strap really works well together.
Understated elegance it most certainly is (in my eyes)

Servicing my motorcycle today so I'm wearing my least valuable watch. It was a 21st Birthday present back in 1986 and is still going strong. I change the batteries myself these days. Not worth a lot but I still have a soft spot for it.

That still looks great. I've got a green face / green bezel one upstairs somewhere. Needs the battery changing and the text on the bezel has completely faded but I must dig it out. It was my first decent "branded" watch as a teenager. Will no doubt look tiny on my wrist compared to current fashions!

Mine's a 1996 model, it was a Pepsi Bezel but I had it changed to black. Definitely one of those watches you never sell, I'm going to let me son have mine when he's 21, unless he turns into an ahole!.

It looks like a Seiko skx 007, it's a classic design. They do a larger one, the 009, and a smaller one, 013, iirc. All classic divers watches, reasonably priced abd very robust.
The SKX007 and 009 are exactly the same watch except for the bezel insert and dial (both black on the 007, blue dial with a blue/red insert on the 009), they're the same size smile The 013 uses the same movement in a slightly smaller case and is all black as per the 007.

Andy's watch is actually an SKXA53 aka Black Bullet, named so due to the bullet shaped hour markers and black dial, other colours were available though the watch has been discontinued for some time. Original 53s are identical to the 007/9 except for the chapter ring and dial, except Andy's is modified with a bead blasted case, bezel and crown with its chapter ring, crystal and handset swapped for aftermarket parts. The strap is a Time Factors Retro which is based upon the style of the ISOfrane originals. How do I know all this? The watch used to be mine...

Andy - glad you're still enjoying it thumbup

Edit to add an old 'photo of mine.

Any help finding one to the same specification would be greatly appreciated...
Have a look on Fleabay under "Seiko divers" and you will see the range available. One of them might be just what you want. If however you want specifically that model and nothing else will do, then you'll have to join a watch forum and wait. You might decide that a 007/009/013 is close enough, in which case happy days. You might see a heavily customised earlier model and think "sod it, close enough". Bit have a sniff round and you'll get to know what's out there and whether it suits.
