Get rid of the knurling on the sides of the pushers, it's redundant and I don't like it.laugh
But they're designed for my clumsy fingers to push..

edit: glad I didn't show a back side picture because I've got knurling there as well!

Son has decided to save for a Sub, but I was thinking...

Watchfinder have 85 Subs and do interest free credit. He's got the deposit amount, and is saving £500/mth, so why not get one now and pay it off over 6/12 months?

Anyone know which branch carries the most Sub stock, and also...

...anywhere else, perhaps in the Midlands/Birmingham that has a good Sub choice and also does 0% credit?

Thanks for any info.

Because the PH snobs hate that sort of thing? If however he doesn't care about what some unknown bores on the internet think and his short term future is secure there doesn't send to be a down side with prices going as they are.

Do they have a concession in Selfridges? I know the one in London is by the Watch Gallery and they offer 0%. Is he looking at a ceramic sub? Might be nice to bite the bullet and go new at an AD. If it's a keeper or for a special occasion could have papers registered on birthday. There's a few 0% credit cards about too which is an option I've used to purchase watches before.

Unless he thinks that he'd benefit from the discipline of saving rather than going for instant gratification then I'd say go for the 0%. He's worked hard, at 0% there's no issue in rewarding himself sooner rather than later. The downside of buying now though is that while he's saving he still has the opportunity to investigate and inform himself of the options, though this could just end up either upping the budget or ending up in a state of analysis paralysis biggrin

Date, but by all means explain why it should be non-date, if it should!?

It can only be "cleaner look" but I like the bubble on mine as it shouts "Rolex" and my wife traded her non-date Datejust for a date one as she too preferred the look. Son is bound to be "persuaded" by us that way too, but it's his decision, his money.

At the risk of being pedantic, the one without the date is the Submariner. The other is the Submariner Date.

The Sub is the nicer looking watch IMHO, particularly the pre-ceramic models. However a date is very useful.

The problem being, the date Cyclops spoils the clean lines of the watch. Which is why I usually wear a 16600 Sea Dweller. It has a date and no Cyclops.

The cyclops on the sub date, is the equivalent of a bifocal lens. As an optometrist that should put him off the date version.

Date or no date is a long-running and well known question. Which of course comes down to individual preference.

Personally having had both I traded the date sub for a dssd which also has a date, but not a cyclops. It's the cyclops magnifier I don't like. Don't think it suits the sub at all, in the same way it's fine on a Panerai Sub or a Cartier Roadster etc.

I wish Rolex would produce an ND or at least non-cyclops 116619. But they don't and won't, which is putting me off the model.
