Buying Omega Planet Ocean...
Discussion
I am looking to replace/supplement my ageing but trusty Seamaster with a new Seamaster Planet Ocean Titanium.
I know which model I want and how much it costs but a quick online search finds it advertised at a couple of UK suppliers at around £1k off RRP price, although neither has it in stock so I'm left with the concept of paying the thick end of £5k upfront to an unknown (to me) supplier for delivery in 2-4 weeks.
I want the full Omega warranty etc. but having seen the better price I am liking the potential saving, so looking for any advice/recommendations on where to safely source said watch at a decent price.

Have you not tried to get 'discount' on a new one at a high street retailer?I know which model I want and how much it costs but a quick online search finds it advertised at a couple of UK suppliers at around £1k off RRP price, although neither has it in stock so I'm left with the concept of paying the thick end of £5k upfront to an unknown (to me) supplier for delivery in 2-4 weeks.

If you are paying cash or on card you can often get upto 20% discount by haggling and using other online offers i did this with my Seamaster Regatta. got £800 discount. Its worth a try.
I walked out on the day, watch on wrist and they price matched another retailer online over 100 miles away.
Whats to lose in trying?
Andy
Thanks for the replies.
No I've not tried haggling at a jewellers, I've no problem trying but didn't imagine there would be much movement available? actually 20% is about what I've seen online, although Iconic Watches are a fair way off that.
I'd seen DomH mentioned on other threads but thought he only dealt with used watches? I'll get in touch.

Dom has many connections, helped me get a healthy discount on a brand new Breitling. No I've not tried haggling at a jewellers, I've no problem trying but didn't imagine there would be much movement available? actually 20% is about what I've seen online, although Iconic Watches are a fair way off that.

I've bought new and used through Dom H, including a Planet Ocean ... Top bloke! I highly recommend him.
I sent him an email to ask about a second hand purchase. I'd found a watch and wanted to give him the chance to do better. He couldn't, but still took the time to ring back and chat for 10 mins. Top gent and his enthusiasm for watches is infectious.Gassing Station | Watches | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
