Yes......I know I'm asking for a barrage of abuse......but hear me out, the misses is nagging.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Rolex-18K-Ruby-Diamond-D...

1. Will it be a genuine Rolex watch (yes I know the bezel and rubys are aftermarket) but would the base watch actually be a Rolex?
2. Will it actually turn up?
3. Will I have paypal protection against it being a fake/not turning up/etc
4. What is it actually worth being aftermarket diamonds/rubys?

Thanks for any advice........

I'm a long way from being any sort of expert, but if it was real then surely it would easily sell for more than that to a local dealer for them to move on...

You'll need to add on import charges as well.

I'm sure you can get somethig nicer for similar money without the risk.

She wants a Rolex, but with Diamonds......they're silly money for anything like it. Plus it's actually a nice looking watch, so she would wear it for a long time..........

I am, by the way if you look at what else the shop sells there's a lovely Rolex with a marijuana leave motif on the face.

I'm guessing that this is not direct from the Swiss factory, more possibly one of their Chinese 'subsidiaries'!

This fills me with little confidence around the one you're looking at!

When you say "they're silly money for anything like it "did the penny not drop? Doesn't it occurre to you there's a reason there silly money and that seems a good price? Not wanting to be rude mate, but I see your in finance? F**K letting you loose round my money!! LOL . Please don't take that the wrong way I'm saying it in a light hearted way.

If you do get something off EBay I would suggest somewhere at lease in this country so if it turns out to be a pup you can go get your money back!!

What I meant was that they're silly money for anything factory made like it. I'm fully aware the diamonds and rubys are aftermarket. The watch (without the d&r) is probably worth £3k if genuine so with aftermarket gems I know it's not going to be worth much more. Factory made with those, you're looking £10k+

Oh and if you're going to have a pop, it kinda loses its effect with so many spelling/grammatical mistakes in 2 paragraphs. You stick to ya scrap metal. Please don't take it the wrong way, I'm saying it in a light hearted way smile

I'll 2nd the Ian Blowers comment, plus i think you are insane for considering an import given the risks...
unless you can afford to take the chance of course.

I wouldnt do it , mind you pop a photo of that up on the Vintage Rolex forum on facebook , you'll have an answer pretty straight away to see if it's legit.

My bet on it coming to the Uk is iffy. Gut feeling is don't do it!
