Speedmaster model range
Discussion
I'm considering a Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional at the moment.. I see you can get a version with the giant presentation case, NATO straps etc and a black leather strap rather than the bracelet (311.33.42.30.01.001). I can't see myself wearing it on the bracelet (prefer a NATO or leather) but is it a no-no investment wise to get one without?
Edited to add I see a there is also a Professional sapphire front and back version in 42mm available for 500 or so pounds more (311.33.42.30.01.002). I get the history of hesalite but being clumsy the sapphire version appeals. Again from an investment point of view what are people's thoughts?

How much would one expect to pay for a pre-owned 'classic' speedmaster?
Age is un-important really. Would like to see it with B&P's
There's a 1981 Watch no box or papers on TZ at the moment for £2650 I think
Chrono24 has them all over the place for 2k up to about 4k
Private or dealer is fine.

I've just paid £2500 for a Moonwatch from an indy on Chrono 24. Mint condition, small wooden box and papers, on bracelet, 11 years old. I'm not sure if the wooden box is the original, but i prefer it to the red vinyl one that sheds like a porcupine!Age is un-important really. Would like to see it with B&P's

New ones are going for ~3k with the massive box, eyeglass etc. on Chrono 24. I didn't want the huge box! On the high st the the list price is £3520.
2k sounds about right for a private sale or trade in, would be amazed to find it (complete) at a UK dealer for that price.
