Hi all,
Been offered a Seiko 6139-6002 and wanted to get your views on it before i splash the cash smile

I already own a yellow/gold dialled pogue but have been after a black one. This looks ok to me but im far from an expert. The images provided are pretty awful, but from what you can see, are there any obvious issues?

The watch is fully working and belonged to the persons granddad, so ownership for the last 45yrs apparently (no proof of that), what would you value this at these days?

Thanks in advance

Ken

Nice, looks genuine from what I can see. Got to be worth a few hundred quid, looks like nice condition. I'm no expert either but I know someone who is ;D

If we assume it's all original and working (does the inner bezel rotate and have you got the curved bracelet ends), I'd say £400 - £500.

August 1971 according to the case back if that's of any interest. Only the early ones have the writing on the face at the nine position. I can't see if it says "Proof" or "Resist" in the photo. Probably "Resist".

Lovely watch. Good for the next 46 years!

Looks correct, August 1971 as per the previous post. What sort of money is it? Around £500 seems to be the going rate in my searching, but that can rise for 'proof' watches.

(Anyone seen a decent gold dial around?)

Looks OK to me too - I have a few Pogues and have used the Collectors Guide on https://thespringbar.com/blogs/guides/the-seiko-61... and the reference threads on http://www.thewatchsite.com/15-vintage-watch-revie... and http://www.thewatchsite.com/15-vintage-watch-revie...

Looks like a decent specimen though if the seller wanted more than say £300, I'd be asking for much better pictures - especially macro shots of the dial straight on, a shot with the bracelet attached (to make sure the end links aren't all mashed up). If that's an original Stelux bracelet, then you're doing well too.
