They had three in stock yesterday morning at under £7k. They were sold by the early afternoon, so they told me. Dunno how they'll get hold of a now sought after, deleted item.
I don't know what country Iconic get their Rolex from but maybe their supplying AD's in Poland or Greece or Italy etc still have a few in stock ???
Can't see that being the case for long though........

There'll be some around for a while, but they will dry up like the original SS Daytona. I knew an AD in Norway that used to get 2 SS Daytonas every 6 weeks when the UK had 7 year waiting lists, also similar with an AD in Barcelona, they could always get them. Strange the way the markets varied, but there'll be plenty SD's in the EU for a couple of weeks...

I was looking at the SD4000 just a day or two back on Iconic watches website- they were listed at £7200
which represented a £400 discount off list price.
Since they were discontinued today and absent from the Rolex website they have shot up £600 in a day and are over list.

They were the only SS sports model that Rolex couldn't shift and if you were to buy one last year during the pre price rise craze you could walk into a boutique and get it without waiting for 6900. And then if you wanted to sell it you'd get 6000 private, if you got lucky, or around 5200 if you were to sell to the dealer. I was offered one brand new for 6500 but it just didn't look right. I wish I did only so that I could flip it now to one of the "it's going to be a classic worth millions in 30 years time" bandwagon jumping sheep.

Paul Newman Daytona's were once in shop windows unloved and discounted to get rid of them.......stranger things have happened.

True but what happened yesterday with prices of 116600 is a bandwagon jump in hope that this will be the new great thing. It just makes me chuckle.

Question is did they really sell or did they withhold them and will release each gradually at higher prices. I wouldn't be surprised if the latter happens since it's a standard practice nowadays.

Perhaps, a Deep sea went as well, it was the 4000 model that "sold out" they still have plenty of the 16600 model including a couple of 1975 1665DRSDs and one with red lettering I presume those are big money.

Although WF do seem to be set up to sell watches rather than mess around trying to grab an extra bit of margin in my experience.

But who knows, I've read there is a client/collector base that believes when the model is discontinued the prices rise.

There are at least 3 DSSD's sitting at dealers in Scotland today if anyone is looking for one. 1 dealer has an Airking too.

Like my AD in Norway, that AD in Barca could always get SS Daytonas when the UK had years of waiting lists. would only take bank transfers from overseas though.

Looks like some people are in pure desperation to get their hands on an 116600

Hello,

I am looking at pictures of the Nee Sea Dweller and can't tell if the sapphire crystal has the same "step up" as older Sea Deellers or if it is "flush" like a submariner? I think it looks flush because a step up and a cyclops could be too much?

Pictures definitely seem to show a raised crystal... would like to see one in the flesh to see how 'big' it all is.

Didn't get on with my DSSD and prefer my pre-ceramic SD but am tempted by this but need to see it first.

It'll probably sell really well
Agree but whilst it's an 'Anniversary' model Rolex have never been one to limit the numbers. They'll make as many as they can. SD4000 is now more of interest given it must be one of the shortest production runs for the brand?

For me the new Sky Dweller in s/steel just released looks the business.

The big question? Is it a gloss dial? It does state on the data sheet as such but it looks matte.

Seriously- what do you think a stickered up / unworn SD4000 will be going for in 6 months?

They're trading at £7k. I wouldn't have a problem buying one but then I seem to get more kudos wearing my knackered beaten up 1993 SubD. It just goes under the radar, like its owner its been around a bit and seen plenty of 'action' and prefer it as my everyday business/casual watch. In reality I only need one watch and found one that I keep coming back to wear.
