I liked the old scraggy-looking place to be honest.

Have we moved so that the fat singer* that drives UFOs and sucks tits can't find us?

*(Yeah, I know he ain't fat).
Oh, he is!

Anyway Happy Christmas to one and all. Here’s a small AliExpress gift from me, to me, a Marine Nationale style strap for my utterly wonderful Glycine Combat Sub.

(The blue tally marks on my hand are from scoring the drunken party games last night!)

Slightly over budget but what was on wrist when I saw we had moved house. Loving the new neighbourhood.

My new one on the right, new Barton strap on the left and a stand from the cat after it smashed the cover on my case a few weeks ago. The Citizen is a bit of a beast but very comfortable, the Barton strap is really nice I wish I’d got one before.

Lume is good on the Citizen

This is the Avi-8 Chairman I won, my lad is well pleased with it, the mechaquartz movement is cool. He was less impressed with me interrupting him gaming to take the photo…

Thought I’d opened the wrong door for a minute there.

I don't normally like that kind of strap but that looks "just right", great colour match

Well, here it is, what do we all think of the new premises?? Bigger, brighter and of course carpeted this time!!
Welcome one and all!!!

Are you bigging these new digs up in an effort to entice me in?

It’s not going to happen, I’m telling you. I’m not having you lot being a bad influence on me again. I’ve been a good boy recently and haven’t bought another watch since July, (I bought my daughter a circa-1938 Breguet for her birthday).

I even managed to resist buying myself a Mondaine Stop2Go for Christmas, (although I did place a factory order for a new van on 23rd December to compensate).

Anyway, you lot are a bad influence and I’m not playing with you any more. angel

Here’s a watch to kick it off, I paid 1 USD for this in 2010. Needs a new strap (thinking brown leather?? The dial is greyish).

Hard to photograph, but I’ve always liked it.

Happy Christmas all
Ohhh, that’s nice. I like that. £1 you say? Interesting…..

$1… not sure how much that was in £ in 2010. Not a lot. I bought a timex at the same time, will get a picture. Both from a thrift store in Flagstaff, AZ.

The Waltham seems to be running fine.

Would like to see more of the Waltham when you get a strap on it!!

I'll take it back to Canada and put a strap on it.

Dug out a couple more. I've always liked the Edox, I don't think it runs correctly however.

Since I've been back I've been wearing my 22.50 6139 (the refurb put it outside of thread budget, however)

I did…… Last night in fact frown

I started off looking at old Walthams, then seeing if I could get an old Longines Conquest VHP for under £200, then old Russian military watches, then eBay recommend this;

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vintage-Oris-Pointer-Da...

I wonder if it’s possible to get it working again for £125 or under?

I really hope somebody else buys it so I don’t have to.

You’ve bloody done it again. You’ve led me astray once more you ‘orrible lot.

So go on then, tell me about 1950’s-1970’s Poljot military watches. Even better, dissuade me from buying one as there’s a few on eBay tickling my fancy.

Found my $1 Timex... even set the day/date (bit of a faff on these)

Sunburst dials are great.
