…and not your fleabay type auction. Proper auctions with viewings and auctioneers and things!

My local one has a rather nice Seamaster that I quite fancied so off I toddle to have a look. Clean enough and it’s a timed auction so, on the day, I log in to have a bid. Long story short I didn’t get it. Wasn’t excessive but just a little more than I wanted to pay. Ah well.

However… a couple of lots later what pops up but a Tissot. Now, I’ve always had a bit of a soft spot for these. Quite nice watches and not much money. This one was boxed with all the paperwork and nobody seemed to want it. Long story short, I’ve not got a Tissot PR50 for 75 quid plus the commission.

Feeling quite pleased with myself, of I go to collect. At which point they give me the box and another bag. Seems I’d bought a job lot without realising it!

There’s nothing tremendously exciting in it, no Rolexes or anything. But there was another Tissot PR50, a cheap Sekonda that will do for work (both quartz) and an automatic Kered that I’ve never heard of but seems quite nicely made.

Delving deeper, there’s a couple more! A ladies Michel Herbelin…

…and my favourite of the lot!

Proper ‘80s retro baby! Yeah.

Not a bad haul for just under a ton methinks!

Anyone else got any accidental bargains?
