I like the panerais but they are all bloody massive and I have slim wrists.

apart from that (and the price tag) I would get one!

are there nice watches for people built like racing drivers?

The now-discontinued Ulysse Nardin "Marine" chronograph is a nice watch: www.buygoodwatches.com/elmar_item_details.aspx?itemId=UN1014

Check out www.watchfinder.net for prices.

Me too

Plenty of lovely watches I would like but they are just too big for my wrists

Don't care for Tags. I prefer the Speedmaster with the leather band.

Asterix,

If you're concerned about a watch being too chunky then there's a sleeker model of Carrera available...

About Tag Carerras and thin wrists ...

The pic at the top of the thread shows one version of the Carerra where the bezel is outside the dial and makes the watch look pretty chunky. I bought the more classic version in black with the silver daytona chrono dials and a black crocodile strap from Jon at www.watches.co.uk - it was pre-owned but perfect in every way and much cheaper than list.

May be worth a try? Here's a pic:

It's the most beautiful thing I own.
My brother bought an Omega Speedmaster which is also quite a small watch and again has motor racing links (especially his Schumacher limited editionversion)

I have the tag in the first picture but with a blue face. It is definatly a mans watch as on slender wrists it looks huge, on me it is perfect. I love both watches but the tag just edged it on wear ability, it felt right and has not been off my wrist every day since I got it in the states. I never thought I would own a watch so expensive and used to laugh at others who spent what is a large amount on one, but now I wouldn't want to go back to an ordinary watch even if they are more accurate.

for the price of a new carrera you buy a real 60's one, not a modern one.

And it would be so much cooler yes

I've got one very similar to the first Carrera on the page, only problem is it is a very thick watch, about 15mm front to back, so would look a little silly on a thin wrist.
But some of the other models are a little lighter, a much better option than a new TAG, if it's possible to get these over in Dubai scratchchin

Thank you very much for that link - I'm seriously looking for an original Carrera ... only a minor thing like a house purchase stands in my way ...

I too have slim wrists and have had my Tag for the last 15 years, I've tried Breitlings and Omegas since and with the exception of an old DeVille they just looked wrong.

A Zenit
h Elite is on my shopping list at the mo...

Well as he's asking £2500 for one very very similar to mine I'd say his prices are a little steep anyway I'd guess at £3500ish but I'd put that at about double what it's actually worth, the Carrera he's got at £850 I only paid £175 for, but that was before old Heuer prices went silly.

Errr No and No.
But they both have enough contact details on the sites for some door banging if you get stung, and your link even has a sort of shop in York so that looks pretty above board to me, if in doubt give them a call or go to York.....and the Autavia he has in stock is very tempting scratchchin
