Hi Guys!

I am bitten by the Sinn bug! I am hoping to get myself a 757 and there has been several post praising Neil and chronomaster.
Is it reasonable to expect a discount on a sinn watch these days? Any thoughts appreciated
I was actually wondering the same thing...

Ask Neil I guess.

I think I'm correct in saying that he's the only UK agent and seeing that the strength of the Euro (or weakness of the Pound) will make European products such as Sinn more expensive for the UK consumer, I'd doubt that it would be easy to secure much of a discount. You can but ask though...

Yeah, I read in the other thread that the weakness of the sterling might start to bump the prices up, so I got my order in the other day!

I didn't ask for a discount at all, mostly because I forgot, but also, from what I read on here, it didn't seem that likely!

I would recommend neil @ Chronomaster. Not able to catch him during the day this week, so he said it was OK to ring him in the evening. I ended up calling him at around 8:15pm (pre-arranged by email), and it was not problem at all for him. Very knowlegable and explained a few things about that watch to me! thumbup

Gosh how did you work that out ... ?

BTW I fixed the quoting for you.
...not any old Porsche either....a 'proper Porsche', 993. Do you see a trend here? ie quality and form!

PS:- am looking for recommendations for a divers' watch, not too huge ( 40mm about right), not too many gadgets and dials....plain and simple is best. Ideas Daniel?

I own 2 sinns' And love them both. If I could afford one right now my money would go on a IWC 3717. Love them, Can't say if they can handle the abuse because I have never owned one.

If you want to buy one watch only I think the IWC is the way to go, or buy 3 Sinns'

Oh and what are these Damasko of which you speak I've never heard of them wink

Budget?

Divers aren't really my thing, to be honest. I do have a Mk II Stingray which I like a lot, bit of a crappy photo:

Got mine used for about £300, but new I think you're looking £400-ish depending on spec. but with a long wait.

Alternatively I've had my eye open for an IWC Aquatimer for a while, like this:

Whch I guess would be around the 1500 mark used.

Finally if money were no object, one of these:

Stuart, you are now officially my Playmate of the Year - and it's only January! In my replies to said person I tried to be patient and polite but to be sure patience was a virtue almost lost! However, I am sure he will be sadly missedshootbeer

Tertius, somehow a watch carrying the name "White Bread" doesn't seem to cut the mustard!whistle

Another idea, what about an Anonimo?

Really like the look of the yellow dial Milimetri (another one on my wish list):

But if yellow is too out there its also available in black, blue and orange.

Interesting watches these - are they the ones created by the team who used to be at Panerai? Never quite sure if they'd justify the cost though until I'd already scratched the Panerai itch...

Apparently yes. Also apparently in the same workshops using the same tools. All freed up when Panerai relocated to Switzerland. Personally I think they are better value than Panerai and I'd have one first. Don't hold their value in quite the same way mind, but not bad.

You've done it now!! I was happy to consider either the Omega, IWC or Rolex watches, then you show me pics of the Blancpain! After much googling, I want one.........but as I see there aren't any to be had. Perhaps I will cut my losses and go for a Sinn saving a lot of money at the same time. (pun intended!)

......trouble is, when you see Nirvana you want to go there!

Now that is rather delectable! I'm not overly familiar with GO divers, so I'm off googling!

It is rather nice indeed. I've seen a few nice divers recently from more up-market brands.

I find it odd that these companies make tool watches, for some strange reason I think they ought to be making dress watches.
