I'm in the early stages of looking for a divers watch, not sure the blue/yellow of the standard aquatimers does it for me and Rolexs are too copied and old-manly <flame suit on!>. Any other suggestions?
Love the IWC aquatimer with crowns at 2 and 4.
I'd already be looking to acquire one but I have the feeling they will wear too large on my skinny wrists. I very reluctantly decided not to buy the Doppelchronograph (which I desperately wanted for its complication) because at 42mm and thick with it, it looked ridiculous on my wrist
I've moaned before about watch manufactures following the fashion to be bigger and more conspicuous, both are characteristics that I despise in a watch. Will have to try the Aquatimer to see how large it actually feels - some 42mm watches are OK, whereas some appear huge

Well I have now decided on a Sinn U1 SDR. It's not a pretty watch but, as I do in fact dive, I wanted a sturdy beast able to take the knocks and bangs of boat diving. I like the idea of it being built from 'U boat' steel, and the face is easy to read underwater with a dial that gives minute segments all the way round to 60, ( not all 'divers' watches do!!).
Here is the brute.....
......edited to say that I have had a Rolex Oyster Date on my wrist since 1986 so I don't need a daily watch. If I did I may have chosen something more 'stylish', such as the IWC.

Quite like these re issue type dive watches. Don't know how much these are but I bet I can't afford one
Love 'em (except for the flippin' reversed date wheel, why oh why ...). Three crowns! What's not to like?Or how would sir like a JLC polaris

I have seen pictures of that JLC many times but I have only just noticed that the disc in the middle seems to be movable? I can see a little marker in that picture opposite the minute hand. Is this a GMT by any chance? If so that would also explain the date wheel/date setting reversal since the GMT setting would be by turning the crown in the opposite direction to quick set date?
I could be talking blx of course.

that little hand does not indicate a second time zone, but the time at which the alarm will go off jacksbane said:
Im currently looking at a second hand Damasko DA36, i know this is a discontinued model, so is there anything i need to know with regards to quality/any ohter issues, and any ideas on a fair price i should be paying ??
The DA36 is a fantastic watch and has no quality issues that I have read about ... They're fairly rare so finding one second hand may be a waiting game. They usually go for between £500-600.one recently sold here
