Sorry about that Commander. Will have to be have discipline. What with CW and Werners, there is no hope for us all, and we might as well just accept the fact that we are all addicted.

I will be the first -

Hello, my name is Chris and I am a watch fan.

That feels sssssooooo much better.
I bought a watch from Werners but i was disappointed with it, to me it felt cheap - like the kind of watch you would get free from a petrol station for buying 50 litres of fuel, the packaging was poor (a plastic sunglasses case) and the watch case had a big manufacturing mark down it, the case finish was nothing to write home about either. I sent it back and was charged £10 for trying it on which i wasn't happy about. I've got to give credit to Nick though as he is a good guy and he refunded me in full after i complained.

Which watch did you buy from Warners? been looking at them for some weeks now and just working up the nerve to go and buy one (afraid that it may be the start of an expensive hobby!) smile

I bought an R7 with lux strap.

By all means order from Werners. But in my experience don't expect absolute quality. Nick is a really good guy and he will aim to please you, that's why i didn't post a negative comment when i received the watch because the customer service is good (as long as you complain about the £10 charge if you decide to return!)

Although the C4 Peregrine Chronograph looks very nice...

to be fair, the carrera does look like a tag flavoured speedmaster in the first place. Hopefully it'll be £250 or less.

Yeah, watch design suddenly seems rather incestuous!

I bought the now out of stock GMT Flieger and while far from amazing, it would be churlish to complain considering it only cost me £72. It's big, but looks good on the wrist when I've worn it, it's smart, not bling and I really like having a GMT function. Plus, it most definitely looks like it cost something around the £250-300 mark. Will be interesting to see how the CW stacks up.

Carter, I went for the black face/black leather strap combo on my C3 - was thinking of maybe getting a white face version but decided to play it safe in the end.

That's the one i originally went for but decided to buy a tan strap as it was in the sale, incase i fancied a change.
It turned out i prefer the tan strap to the black as it adds something else to the apperance of the watch. Both straps look great though and the quality of leather and clasp is brilliant.

Cool, I'm looking forward to getting it. Pics and opinions will follow as always. Oh, just thought I'd add that if anyone is considering getting a CW of some description, the following code, which gives a 10% discount, may well be enough to persuade you to make a purchase!
Code: SENSE10
Expires August 31st

Yeah I know, I have got the one on the right and if the C7 had been around at the time, I too might not have got it. However, you can always sell the Carrera and buy a few of the CW watches.

Friend of mine bought one of these recently. For the money, they are very good IMO.

I wouldn't buy one with a bracelet - not the best quality (expected at the price point I think).

I'd also be careful on colour combos etc - dial spacing can look awkward and the numerals can look a bit lost.

Neat watch though, and the one picture with the Tags looks great.

Hopefully end of this month or perhaps next month. They are not on the website for pre-order yet, but have been away for a few days and have not caught up with everything that has been going on

Just been onto the CW forum and there has been a little bit of an update from Christopher Ward himself. They have just moved production into Switzerland, but there is going to be a website update on Friday, with the launch of 3 new models - likely to be the C8 and 2 others, but not confirmed if the C7 will be amongst them.

That is rather lovely.

I've been keeping an eye in this section for a while now, looking for a nice looking watch (without spending a fortune).

That one is now on the list, along with a few others from their site.

The C8 looks fantastic - I will be sorely tempted when it goes on sale, just hope it's not massively expensive. I have a feeling it's going to be £200+ though, which would put it out of my current price range frown

I seem to recall there was a post on the forum repeating an email exchange between a member and CW himself in which the price for the C8 was mentioned as "around £250".

Yes, sounds about right as I emailed them regarding my C3 and also asked about the C8 and was told it would be around the £250 mark.

There is now an update on the soon-to-be-released models within the news forum on the CW website.

The news regarding the two new watches mentioned in this thread is basically...
C8 (automatic pilot style watch) launches the end of August from £250
C7 (quartz Carrera inspired chrono) launches sometime in October from £195

See here for the forum thread
