Congrats on that dude. Great looking piece. I love my one and like you said, keep getting drawn to the weave.
Thanks. Loving the pen and cannot wait for the 'proper' version to turn up (fountain). Both will make a good set!
Think I'll have to retire my Mont Blancs and Parker for a little while...
^^^^^^Now that IS stunning!^^^^^^^
How do you find it to use?
Are you using cartridges or bottled ink + converter?
Is it a daily or just for occasional use? Any issues with it drying out or anything?
and most importantly, what paper do you use? still need to find some that does not allow ink to bleed through...

That Dunhill looks remarkably similar to my Shaeffer.

Tried all sorts, including much more expensive pens than the Shaeffer before settling on it. Very happy so far.

I find it easy to use, even though it rolled of the desk a little while ago and bent the nib which I have since straightened. I use Mont Blanc bottled ink in a variety of colours, strangely some colours dry out more than others!!How do you find it to use?

I use it most days just on whatever paper I am using. Post it notes, bank paying in books etc.etc.
Just a quick update to mention that I am now the owner of a Dunhill Sentryman Carbon Fibre Fountain Pen as well!
Just had a call from their Bicester Outlet to say that they have had some stock in from France and I promptly paid for one over the phone. The price? £150 + £10 Postage. Bargain for a pen that was £500+ RRP.
The sales guy said that they had 10 pieces come in of the pen and as it is a discontinued model, these were truly the last 10 in their network.
Just a heads up if anyone was looking around for one of these. Fantastic price for what it is.
Mine should be arriving tomorrow. Will update with pics.
Should make a good set with the rollerball version I already have!

The sales guy also mentioned that they also have a limited edition pen made from the engine block of a Spitfire - for £4500!
That'd be a bit too heavy for me. I'll stick to one made from a first generation solar system.(I mean c'mon. If you melt it down or machine it, why does it matter that the material was once a Sptifire block. It's like saying all the water we drink has been peed out at least twice. Utterly irrelevant, unless it still resembles a Merlin block, in which case it'd be a bit too heavy for me to use as a pen.)
Update:
My new pen arrived today.
Loving it!
The detail on the nib is very nice. 18k gold nib.
With it's ballpoint brother:
Both Dunhills with both of my Mont Blancs (Miesterstuck Le Grand Diamond Ballpoint & Artruro Toscanini Limited Edition Ballpoint Donation Pen):
Both Dunhills with a Parker Ballpoint that my dad gifted to me after 25 years of use:
it is the one pen that I could not be without. Ever.
Initial feel of the fountain pen is positive. The flow of ink and smoothness is excellent. Have been supplied with 10 Blue cartridges for use + a converter. Will use up the cartridges and then look into buying bottled ink. Any recommendations? I see on the Mont Blanc website that they have some interesting colours... Worth a shot at £11 methinks.

Thanks for the heads up, I've just got back from a very wet Bicester with my new pen. Initially they said they didn't have any but then someone else overheard the conversation and said check out the back My new pen arrived today.

I hate PH at times
I'm rather liking the look and idea of this:

I daresay I may not be quite so positive about its price however...

Also on http://www.gbapen.co.uk/products.aspx?make=Fjader%... for around £10 a pop. Bought one earlier this week and even if I don't use it much it's an interesting looking thing anyway!Gassing Station | Watches | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
