Bit too busy for my liking.

Werners do some nice watches for around that price - http://www.wernersflyingwatches.com/default.asp

They seem to be highly regarded on this forum!

Looks okay, but it's trying a bit too hard to be a Breitling for my liking...

hehe

One of my relatives has a 15 year old Breitling and it looked so much better than the modern ones. Much less in-yer-face look-at-me!

Argos are good on price for mainstream watches, they have a similar Rotary on quite a bit cheaper and it looks nice in the flesh.
I've had a Rotary watch for work for over 20 years and apart from falling apart inside after a LOT of abuse at work whilst using an air rivetting gun (face re-attached at a local watchmakers) its never missed a beat.

rofl

I doubt many watches would stand that kind of force. Hey, have you tried G-shock? You'd expect that to last.

I've just sold a Rotary on eBay.

I can't really fault it for the money; build quality was good, it kept excellent time, and for a day-date with 24-hour indicator, it was a great little watch for the money.

Just a shame I didn't like it, really. I tried, but it wasn't me.

There's a lot of blather on this page, but the short version is that it's water resistant to about 100M.

rofl That's a bit different to a Rotary! Cool, though. I like the new metal G-shocks. (Got a G-shock Cockpit Scuba watch meself... for climbing, fighting, being a walking punchbag for friends' kids, skating, being punched...)

I doubt many watches would stand that kind of force. Hey, have you tried G-shock? You'd expect that to last.
After using the rivet gun to remove a lot of fasteners and then put them back in, plus several big skin jobs, the lugs holding the face sheared off, and eventually the face moved round a bit so that midday was at about 1 o'clock and the day/date wasn't visible.
The local watch repairers put 3 little screws in to hold the face in correct position, and whilst they were there put in a new glass to replace the very battered old one.
The watch is still going strong, but the glass looks a little out of place being all nice and new compared with the rest of the watch being all a bit battered. biggrin

It's amusing. Big gay bears like me buy a G-shock to take abuse and it's still in pristine condition while there are people like yourself out there wearing classical style watches that take a real beating. As mentioned on another thread, I know someone who's taken a delicate ladies dress watch up Everest and around the Himalayas plus into other rough areas like the Dolomites; it's scratched to death and still ticks on.

Rotary watches are Swiss-made and quite durable, with a lifetime guarantee. The prices range from very affordable to very high prices for higher end watches.
