Resurrect!

Just found this whilst browsing for a strap for my Monaco, and duly remembered this thread.

Thanks for the link!
Really don't want to buy one of the bay, especially with the current e/r!
Found a couple in London, just trying to get the right price! Would like to walk into a shop, try it on and haggle the old fashioned way!
What do fellow watch lovers think of the piece?

I had no idea what it looked like until seeing the pictures in the above 'bay link.

My honest opinion?

It's awesome. Buy one. Now.

Seconded. It's glorious, and justifiably commands lots of good attention, comments, and questions. I'd love one, alongside an original Heuer Monaco.

Kind of seconded. O/P, if you havent got a vintage Monaco get one of those first, plenty of sites around to find one. Then move on, I have a vintage Monaco, the re-issue blue face and the limited issue black face. They are are all cool but the vintage one is the nicest; and, they are not much more expensive and will hold their value better if thats important.

If I wanted one, I'd rather have a 'proper' original style blue one rather than one of those, but then again, I don't really see the attraction of any Monaco that much anyway.

Which 'Gulf' are you after, the black or white dial?....

I thought the white one with the red and blue stripe was called 'martini' not 'gulf'.

PS. I have both smile

Don't want to shift one for a very small 3 digit figure do you?

I did manage to get one, very good price from Austin Kaye on the strand! They do get them, but it's all about right place at the right time!
I personally much prefer the White over the black face, just looks a lot cleaner and crisper!
Good luck fellow hunters, you will not be disappointed!
What next?

Thanks for the links guys, yes the white face is the one im after. Will continue the hunt.

I have seen the brand new one its £3800, there is another thread on it somewhere. Its nice but i like the white one better and with only 4k being made they should hold their value

That's more than I paid for mine brand new a couple of years ago.
