It's not about what you have bought, its about what your wearing... hence the "wrist check" in the thread title.
Don't be such a pedant. You might be wearing it now, but the photo doesn't have to be a wrist shot, which are nearly always crap.

hehe

He's not being a pedant, it's a wrist check thread. As the title says, it's for wrist shots.

It's not really a new concept or one particular to this place.

Tracked this beauty down last week. Useless picture, but you get the idea.

Will add my first entry into the 2009 version and also add to the growing numbers of Speedmaster shots.

This is mine - the 50th Anniversary Ltd Ed, bought it a few months ago and have been banned from ever selling it, which if I am honest, is not too big an issue.

Have had a quick search around the interweb, and have found this site - UK based with a good choice -

http://www.gasgasbones.com/index.html

Prefer mine to stay on the bracelet, but if got a used early version, might just have one of those velcro straps. Let us know how you get on, and if you do buy, then be sure to post a picture.

Thanks for that Cmdr. I am definitely getting me one of those! Just a question of which type...

Crikey. They're expensive. You can pick up a velcro sports strap at any jewellers for about £15.

I like the GMT 11c.

Are the new subs going to get the same new case and bezel?

I have my 50's Fortis Automat on today which I just got back after having to have a glass made because of the weird size, it was my grand dads. I have put it on a Omega strap I had lying around

It's the Suunto core light black. It's very comfortable and light weight. The barometer and altimeter are very accurate, not used the compass much, but seems usable. The display and menu layout are very legible in all conditions and angles.
There are 2 problems that come to mind. The first is that the thermometer only reads air temp correctly if you take the watch off, otherwise your body temp fubars the reading.
Second is while I was on a local downhill track the storm alarm sounded, even though is was completely clear sky's all of that day. I can only assume that rapid change of pressure while descending and ascending threw it off.
Other than the downhill track the storm alarms has been spot on.

Surely you'd end up with the same effect as Buzz is experiencing in this shot though? I'm all for authenticity but I'm not sure if I could live with having to wrap the thing twice around my wrist, and I'm not in my space suit often enough wink

Well, thanks to CmdrBond's heads-up, I bought one of the straps from the site he linked above, and very nice it is too. I got the "Speedy-V1" type, which was made to order, bespoke to my exact wrist size, so there are no "wraparound" issues smile Fits like a glove, and extremely comfortable.

A wrist shot does not do it much justice - so apologies in advance, but here's a couple of pics I took off the wrist.

Nice work. Wrist shot please, but I'm seriously tempted just for the fun of it! Am I right in thinking that it is shortened so it'll just go round the wrist once?
