I posted last year about where to get a 35th anniversary Omega Apollo 11 watch and had no luck in finding one. The search is over. Of all places to find it it was right under my nose on PH. I do not normally go into th watch section of the classified but last wednesday clicked on there to see what was available and BINGO. there it was. It is now proudly on my wrist and is everything I hoped it would be. As seems to be customary here are some gratuitous shots.

Funny blue hue on the reflective surfaces is from blue object between camera and watch. Did not notice it till checking through later.

This is what I had bought as a stopgap but will be used less now.

Have to admit I really love white face and black subdials or black face with white subdials, somehow it makes the subdials easier to read giving the overall watch face more clarity. Fine choice.

Well done in finding a good one and looks very good indeed. I am awaiting the 40th Anniversary Ltd Ed which is coming later this year

Like that a lot smile

Is there a 50th Anneversary due out later this year?

Any news about it, or is it already out?

I did have a good google the other week, but couldn't find a specific 50th ane. moon landing watch.

Lovely watch. I'm a bit cynical about the LEs because they seem to issue one at the drop of a hat, but that's an especially nice looking watch, and I guess that a 40th anniversary is a worthwhile celebration! Reminiscent of a Newman Daytona with that combination of white face and pale sub-dials too.

Nice work.

You're assuming it's the 50th anniversary of the moon landings rather than the watch...

If they are inkeeping with the current pricing of the Ltd Ed's - the Quantum of Solace Ltd Ed Planet Ocean is £2250 and the 50th Anniversary Speedmaster was around the same price, so would guess that the Apollo 11 40th Anniversary edition will be about the same price.

Just had a quick chat with a friendly Omega AD, the 40th Anniversary Speedy will be circa £2500. He's already taken a lot of pre-Basel* orders.

  • Most AD will confirm orders on ltd/new pieces at the Basel show in early April.
