I got my first G Shock nearly three years ago, and was interested to see if it would survive my work and hobbies as all others in the past have not.
So far, its still running perfectly despite having a very hard life!
Its been covered in paint, hot engine oil, bashed against forklifts, HVG's, warehouse racking and whatever else has got in its way.
I've been that impressed with it I decided to order my 2nd one today, a GST-W110D-1AER which I managed to find for £218 which was a nice bargain as RRP is around £300.
This one will be avoiding the lifestyle of the black one though!

Got my first G-Shock today. Been wearing a Pro-Trek PRW-1300Y for day to day stuff for the last 6 years but the light button broke and it stopped holding a charge so I started wearing my Planet Ocean as my daily but that started to get battered on the bike so needed something quickly. Bought this simply because I liked the red strap and I needed something that I could see at night so analogue dial was big plus point.

Lovely watch, really does change colour depending on angle of view and light.
I like yours, but what makes the G-Lide above *really* cool is that it's one of three G's designed to with a nod towards the Aurora Borealis Lovely watch, really does change colour depending on angle of view and light.

As above, the strap on this one is a turquoise/purple marble effect which is supposed to represent the northern lights - it really sets it off and apparently none of them are the same djdest said:

Plain old 5600E. Now around 19 years old. Much liked and even now I prefer to use this for countdown timers etc. than smartphone.
On it's 3rd or 4th battery (can't remember) and on 2nd strap. It is pretty much indestructible and, although I thought it was a bit too big back in the 1990s, it seems a good size compared to all the massive watches around these days. Wish I was ageing as well ;-)
Went in for it's 3rd or 4th battery last month and jeweller gave it back to me to say sorry it was no longer working. With nothing to lose, I bought a battery myself, installed it, and true - no display. A little digging on the internet and found there is a tiny reset contact near where the battery is installed. Touch this and another metal part within the watch with tweezers and it resets everything.
Did this and it sprung back to life - sounds silly, but I was so happy to see it back in action - really didn't want to be forced to replace it.
If you're in a similar boat with what looks like a non-working 5600E this is the link I found with the reset thing shown towards the end...
