Looks like Amazon have a bitof a sale on G-Shocks at the moment.

Also, where is a good place to buy parts to modify one? I have a Ga-110 I want to have a play with.

eBay obviously or a lot of people buy a second watch and create 2 hybrids and sell the one they don't want.

Or you could try Casio direct.

The parts are a lot cheaper than you might think. Last time I 'restored' one wink a complete brand new movement for a mudman was around £28 iirc.

£28!!! Feck. That's cheap. Do you get buttons and back? I've got a spare Riseman strap and case.

That there green one above is very cool indeed. I think g shocks are about being durable and tough and functional but also shouldn't necessarily be too serious IMHO. I would probably feel a little self concious wearing it but nethertheless like it very much. The most adventurous I have managed so far is black with red writing on it - not sure of the model no.

Thats just the internal movement, nothing else (although it does arrive with a battery already installed).

Here is an example of the non solar 'basic' movement costs, about 2months back I got some prices as I have an old 6900 that I'm customizing. I already have a new bezel but want to replace the standard old movement with something more bling. I want to fit maybe this movement....

Direct from casio UK parts department... £27.50 + £2.50 shipping (which takes about 3 days max from experience).

If It's a solar movement then you need to add on a bit more unfortunately. I was quoted on a new MGT-930 Radio controlled/solar movement and it was £76 eek Expect a Riseman to be slightly more.

G-Shock GA-110EH-8A 30th Anniversary edition in collaboration with Eric Haze*.

On sale October time, japanese price Y18900 (£150ish)

Seen a few different pictures and it is actually grey/white pearlecent
And true to my word I've just pushed the button on one. Can't wait, I need it to sit beside my 25th Aniversary 'Dawn Black' Frogman (proper carbon casket version).

As requested... PICTURES!!!!....very very poor pictures....

From the original add I thought it would be a matt lime green, but it has some sparkles in it, but I really like it.
It also has a mirrored screen unlike the pictures of the add

Its had more than a few comments from the office/shopfloor biggrin

Thanks for that. Sounds like it'd be cheaper to buy a really well-worn Riseman and extract the internals. If you only get the movement, though, do you have to buy the buttons, springs, screws etc separately?

You can buy all the parts of the watch individually I think.

The buttons are actually fitted into the case so invariably if your movement fails you don't need the buttons.

Like I said, my price quote is just the movement nothing else.

Oh. I bought a second-hand case and it came without buttons. Hm. No worries. Thought I could use the spare strap and case/bezel without much cost.

I've got the one on the right. Wearing it now, as it happens.
