Anyone bought one of the new rangemans? I fancy one to go alongside my collection but not sure if I can justify another purchase...

I have a G Shock somewhere around here.

will have to dig it out from where ever it is, but I'm wondering if anyone can help with ID'ing it.

its an all digital one, with duel time zone thing, 2 or 3 alarms, stopwatch/timer, backlight, possibly more functions and i cannot find one anywhere, but its got two bars running across the top and bottom, its silver/metal and its over 10 years old, perhaps 11-12 years old?? and it have a couple of those circular lcd segmented dial things too.

trying to figure out what model it is as i want to know what i paid for it all those years ago. i will find it soon, but in the mean time if anyone knows which model i mean, can they tell me please smile

When you dig it out It will have a code on the back of the watch which if you post up or if you put in a search engine will show your watch model, sorry not sure what it is from the description. smile

My girlfriend wants a G-shock, but in general she hates "womens versions" of men's products as they tend to suck....kinda like the Baby G line which look like they are for kids.

Can a woman wear a mans G-shock or would they look huge? Are there any unisex / G-shocks?

The 5600 might be an idea - its the classic G shock and is a reasonable size...

Well, thanks solely to this thread, I now own a G-Shock... smash

I'm an electrical engineer so generally go for nylon or plastic watch straps whilst at work to avoid shorting stuff out with a metal strap... Been happily rotating between a Timex Weekender and a classic Casio F-91W for a while now. I also own a limited edition TW Steel and an Omega De Ville which do for more formal duties...

So here is my new GA-100C-1A3ER probably just for work and day to day use. Sub £100, looks good and feels very robust even though it's light on the wrist. I'm pretty happy with it.

I used to think G Shock were plasticy, tacky toy watches until i found this thread... now i've got about 5 more on my list! I can see it getting expensive.

Matt..

Tempted to get a GShock but the shear number of options don't exactly help with deciding!

Can anyone advise on what to get?
- Ideally sub £100
- Only for use when outside and probably on the hills
- Would prefer non-digital
- Easy to read
- Not too gimmicky!
- Not huge (i have small 7 inch wrists)

Any thoughts?

A GAC-100 is probably least gimmicky under £100. So:

Or this (different colour):

http://www.thewatchhut.co.uk/Casio-G-Shock-Watch-G...

But for 'outdoors' stuff I'd be looking digital ProTrek for Altimeter/Barometer/Compass. Bit over budget but:

Model number G510-D

Its a great watch, can have numerous different time zones on the digital, with your local on the analogue face. Loads of features and works as a smart(isn) watch as well as a watch that will take some punishment in a more casual environment.

Highly recommended!!!

Quite a lot of people confuse the two, but Protreks aren't G-Shocks.

No confusion here? I recommended a G as requested, then a ProTrek separately as it seems more appropriate for the OP's requirements.

ProTreks are awesome. Mine has saved my life so many times.

Ok, so that's a massive exaggeration, but they are very useful out on moor and mountain etc...
