not a g-shock but I came across this and bought it since I like the retro-ness shape of it, and I haven't got an old-school metal bracelet watch at the moment. Only 25 quid! at argos as well as amazon. AE-1200WHD-1AVEF

I got one of those off ebay new before Christmas for 30 so have a hunt around the black back ground green watch doesn't seem to be that popular and you can find a bargain.

I love mine.

Not sure this may be a better perspective with my wrist straight its loose enough to move it but it wont fall down my arm.

Canvas as in nato straps if so there are conversion 'kits' for quite a few different watches.

Having a look at this http://www.tiktox.com/casio-straps-and-spares/g-sh... might give you an idea of the models there seems to be some fabric straps shown. The long winded approach might be going through here http://mygshock.com/wiki/Main_Page but I dont remember seeing any so they maybe older models.
