hmmm that's the problem - I feel suspicious cos like scammers, they have reeled us in with an unbelievably cheap price, then keep us waiting and waiting ever hopeful. If this was any kind of second-hand deal off a website (eg gumtree) or even from any other website being sold as new, we'd think we'd been scammed 100%. The only reason we don't, and hang in with a bit of hope, is because some people have actually bought from them and received goods!

If I keep waiting it goes against all my principles & brain power really - it's just the desire to get a good deal that keeps me hanging in which is foolish probably. How long do we wait? - Until mid september, or the end of september? I don't know.

I can tell you this though, whatever I end up doing, and whatever way it shakes out (whether I ever receive the watch or not, or lose my money) I will never ever use them again as I don't need this kind of rubbish in my life, so in future I simply won't look at them, and won't see what amazing 'deals' I have missed. It's a bad business model IMO.
Request for refund made. Seemingly the watch I purchased is no longer obtainable - I found this out by contacting Casio directly. We shall see how long it takes Figel Hofara to acknowledge this and refund my account.

No communication, no customer care. Avoid, avoid, avoid
clap

Well today after 2 & 1/2 months and 12 communications (I remained courteous throughout) with nigelohara ( all instigated by me) since ordering my watch, today I finally got a refund eek A day I genuinely feared would never arrive. As no naming and shaming is allowed I shall not sleight the company, but I will say I will never, ever, even look at their website again. All the above are facts, so hopefully won't be deleted by mods.
Still feel a little bad about this, since it was me that posted the link to the 60% off deals (and I got my watch!)

Well I held out a bit longer (Im argumentative at the best of times and as I payed on my credit card I wasn't too worried about getting the money back) and guess what arrived yesterday! Im still slightly astonished its here, after almost 3 months of waiting and arguing. Whilst it was definitely a bargain there is no chance I will be using Nigel O Hara again. If they had said upfront it was a 3 month timescale that would have been fine but the constant "We assure you it will be here next week we promise" approach is a shocking way to run a business.

Anyway, its my first G-shock and I love it. The only thing is that while the watch doesn't look to big on my wrist, the strap is a little long. I might consider cutting it near the last set of holes (assuming I can do it neatly) so that the end isn't poking out the side.

Excuse the phone pics (and the fact they're sideways)

That's the one I would've bought.

Bargain at £140.

Yeah if I'd paid on credit card I wouldn't have been so worried, but as I hadn't it was too risky. Glad it worked out for you.

anyone bought off creationwatches.com? Are they ok? And do you typically get stung by import charges or not? (I know you always can, but just wondered what the strike rate was!)

When using Creation it depends on the watch you are buying regarding import duties. I've had several of the more mainstream G Shocks from them and they've all come through without charges, I had a Ltd Run Mudman from them last year that evendently came from a 3rd party in Japan and i got clobbered.

Now that my King has settled into the collection, it's time to think about my 2nd G. This one will see a lot more hard use however, so I'm wondering if the white or red G's can take much abuse, or does the colouring rub/wear easily?

Quite like the look of the GWX-8900B-7 or G-8900A-4DR. Although if the colouring doesn't stand up well it will have to be GA-100MC-1A4.

Even though I like the orange/stainless what I always really liked about this model is the colours in the dial. Therefore Id always planned to tone it down a bit for work as the orange is a little bit too in your face, so Ive swapped on a black strap and a black centre metal bezel, really pleased with it and can swap back when I fancy/can be bothered.

i'm looking for a reasonably cheap <£100 watch.

i'm a clumsy sod at the best of times and can find myself working in some rather unsavoury environments (offshore , manufacturing facilities, Leeds)

i fancy a g-shock for the ruggedness but also the size. I have big strangler hands so a small watch looks silly, the bigger the better.

my requirements are;
big
<£100
rugged
analogue clock

can anyone advise please?

cheers,
Ben

Why don't you start here: http://www.g-shock.eu/euro/watches/classic/

and just do a Google search for the item number for price and shop.

AWG-M100B-1AER = £80 to £100 online
