Phones cost £100s though, they just subsidise them
The cheapest smartphone handset can be bought outright for just over £100 and will incorporate GPS. The cheapest portable sat navs are sub £100.

There's no reason why a watch cannot be linked to network time at low cost but I get the point that Casio would like to associate this feature with the high end of their range.

These are devices that are 10 ~ 20 times larger and will completely drain a battery in less than a day, I don't see the comparison.

On the contrary, one can buy a tiny GPS tracker (the size of a watch) for around £40 with a 3 week battery life if uncharged. I had assumed the tech would be roughly the same whether it was in a portable satnav or a watch. I'm not sure I follow your response but I guess what you're saying is the tech required to fit in a watch is so much more sophisticated that it is also so much more expensive. I'm not sure I'm convinced by that argument but I'm flogging a dead horse anyway so I'll move along and buy the multi-band watch instead.

Nah, I spent a small amount of money on mine restoring, it has brand new bezel and strap, looks like new, not bad for a 20 year old G-Shock.

I have been tempted to sell it as it gets near zero wrist time due to it rarity and now hard to find resin parts at non rip off prices though.

Never thought about that. I don't think this purple watch will get into that state, though.

Love my G-Shock, hell, you link it to an app and it automatically changes the hour difference twice a year, how 21st century is that!

Watch or App?

If it's the watch, it's a GBX6900B. The App is the GShock app which is dead easy to find in an app store.

Oh yes, is it as good as it sounds? Love the idea of being able to control music.

Who has a GBA400? I quite fancy one but not sure whether it's too much of a gimmick I will never actually use!

As a G-Shock I quite fancy one to wear whilst in the garden/doing DIY etc. and am not sure where to start really? Would prefer a solar one with a digital display and have seen this?

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Casio-G-Shock-Solar-Digit...

or this...

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Casio-G-7900-1ER-G-Shock-...

Anyone have any recommendations?

I actually have that model for sale! (very good condition, in its original box & tin etc) When I got my Rangeman I ended up with several G-shocks that were redundant because they all did things individually that the Rangie did combined.
Drop me a line if you are interested/want to come and have a look (im just down the road from you)
