I mean, I like looking at my main G-shock cos it (with its scratches and dents) reminds me of the fun times I've had dangling from a 0.8mm thick rope with cuts and grazes on my elbows, forearms pumped, hands sweaty with fear but I also like looking at my Aeromatic because it is delicate and pretty.
You sure about that? Less than a millimetre is more like string than 'rope'. WTF was it made out of, or do you only weigh a couple of kilos? wink

Yer hands should never be sweaty with fear - unless yer climbing very high above the gear or soloing.

Even then, fear shouldn't come into it, one's concentration should be absolute wink

Blimey! You know...I'll be selling climbing rope and equipment soon, rather than using pubic hair I'll give you some decent discount if times are hard mate, 0.8mm can't be safe biggrin </plug>

Well, I don't believe a climber never experiences fear. In any case, I can't stand heights...

Funny really... I'm getting really excited about getting my new watch delivered - It's as much fun spending 70 quid as it is 7,000 smile

Just had one of these come through the post today and I love it.

I mainly have vintage watches and I was looking for a watch that I could wear without worrying about damaging it. I started thinking about a Seiko Monster, or SKX007J, but then started looking at G-shocks as I wanted something different to what I'm used to. I like the basic looks and the fact that it has some technology that I have never given much thought to, (atomic timekeeping and solar power). I'm now interested to see how it will perform against my automatics and manuals.

What do you think? biggrin

What is cool is that when my atomic G-shock goes off on the hour (pip-pip!), all my trading charts jump forward to the next hour.

Imagine my delight when 3 g-shocks turned up yesterday hehe Very pleased with the orangetastic bad boy, thanks Commander!

Enjoyed it so much I had to order another one just to get that feeling again in a couple of days biggrin

also making enquiries about becoming a reseller, as whilst I'll be stocking the more premium outdoor watches, I think G-shocks have their place in an outdoor shop smile

Look what I got yesterday smile

PRG-110-1V

Been having a play - seems to do rather a lot. At least I was able to set the altimeter this morning accurately, I work right next to the sea.

Will calibrate the compass when I get the chance but it seems to be there or thereabouts.

Very comfy to wear and looking forward to putting it proper use this winter.

This arrived yesterday...

1997 DW-8200Z-1T Frogman "Man In Black" Limited edition.

VERY chuffed to get hold of this one, it's in pretty much mint condition with all the original boxes and manuals biggrin

I was going to ask the same thing Cyberface. The riseman could be really useful to me if the barometer is anything approaching accurate.
I couldn't say for sure, but I think it's got to be fairly good. The barometer on my Riseman seems to tally with my home weather station pressure readouts and the weather station itself nearly always matches the pressure data I get from Metcheck.

The Altimeter can be accurate if you reset it against altitude markers regularly. If the air pressure changes quickly though, it's going to throw the readings out whatever you do.
