Im not a company director but I really like the way they look and they are very practical in my opinion. The watch has good features such as the tough solar and the radio time updates but I agree £500 is a lot of money for one and its more than I can afford at the moment as I need the money for other things

Should really be a metal PVD case at this price point.

Man, I really want the RAF G, but like the Hoof, I baulk at the idea of spending £500 quid on a G - particularly when I consider what else I could get for the money.

Eat more pies. Not the size. A real PBCD would not baulk and blowing £500 on a watch he wasn't 100% in love with because he'd probably use £50 notes instead of toilet paper. Then again, a true PBCD wouldn't need a watch because their butler would look at his Patek to tell the PBCD what time it was.

Yeah.....one from Japan (and plenty of change!) It costs the same in Japan - or at least I couldn't find anywhere selling them at a discount. (And I'm not sure I'd trust anywhere that did...) Plus you run the risk of being clobbered at Customs. The differences between the RAF and the "normal" GW A1000s are (let's face it!) minor and cosmetic. I'd hang on till autumn and see how much they are are when they are officially on sale in the UK - there's certainly no reason to "panic buy" the non limited editions from Japan.

Tiggsy, what does the crown do on the RAF job ?
Does it set the watch into different modes ? Be honest, do you know how to work the thing ? I have a GW2000, that was the first time I've read a manual for anything.

The button at bottom left selects the mode. The crown is used for selecting the time zone and setting the alarm and countdown timer.
