Question for all you G-Shock devotees - where is the best place to pick up a (new) G-Shock? Having never been remotely interested before, I've been drawn in of late and this thread not helping! No idea yet what G-Shock is the right one for me but the hunt is officially on....

Amazon is a decent starting point.

New groupon today:

http://www.groupon.co.uk/deals/national-deal/gg-ph...

GA-110BR-5AER - Black and Gold
GA-200SH-1AER - Black and Red
GA-200SH-8AER - Grey (More silver and green in my eyes!)
GAC-100RG-7AER - White

£59.99. Tempted to pick one up (200SH-1AER I suspect) but will need to price check elsewhere. These guys came good last time around and in fairness it looked like a royalmail fail.

If you want to try them on, try shops.

Making my thread debut with this:

First Casio I've had since my calculator/organiser jobbie at school and I absolutely love it! Can see it getting a lot of use. Bought through Amazon, the US site had them for £44 (equiv) without delivery but found a UK seller for £49 so jobs a good 'un.

they've replied to me in the stringing along style of scammers - "resolved their supplier problems, I should get it sent out later this week"... blah blah blah

sounds liks BS to me, and is similar to what people on the other forum got told. ie they endlessly use delaying tactics. I shall (like an idiot) wait until the end of the week and then pursue it more rigorously.
Had exactly the same message after sending them this

Pacey205 said:
And another 9 days have passed with no sign of dispatch of my watch. In your previous correspondance you stated that I am guaranteed this watch. You state that you are awaiting a delivery from the Casio hence the delay. I have spoken to Casio UK who have told me that they have the watch in stock and have done for some time, not only that but when I asked them they stated that they could deliver it next day, and certainly to any stockists in less than a week. I therefore fail to see how I am still without my watch. I will ask you again, and think carefully about your answer bearing in mind the above, can you deliver this watch? Secondly when will you deliver this watch?

Thank you for your email. We can now gladly confirm that the supply issues we have experienced have been resolved, and the manufacturer has confirmed that we will receive delivery over the next few days. You will receive an email upon dispatch and this will contain your Royal Mail tracking ID and a link to the Track and Trace facility. Please accept our sincere apologies for the delay. Kind regards, Dean
I shall be following the same tactics as yourself I think.
I ordered an MTG from them at the end of June... Still not got it. However, having contacted Casio directly they have told me that the watches are not in stock for at least the next month as they are in the process of changing production factory.

I shall wait and see - I ordered at a 48% discount. If it does not come by the end of September, I shall request a refund....

hmmm that's the problem - I feel suspicious cos like scammers, they have reeled us in with an unbelievably cheap price, then keep us waiting and waiting ever hopeful. If this was any kind of second-hand deal off a website (eg gumtree) or even from any other website being sold as new, we'd think we'd been scammed 100%. The only reason we don't, and hang in with a bit of hope, is because some people have actually bought from them and received goods!

If I keep waiting it goes against all my principles & brain power really - it's just the desire to get a good deal that keeps me hanging in which is foolish probably. How long do we wait? - Until mid september, or the end of september? I don't know.

I can tell you this though, whatever I end up doing, and whatever way it shakes out (whether I ever receive the watch or not, or lose my money) I will never ever use them again as I don't need this kind of rubbish in my life, so in future I simply won't look at them, and won't see what amazing 'deals' I have missed. It's a bad business model IMO.

You said that you paid using a debit card. Was it Visa Debit? Most people don't realise that they do offer protection in the Visa Debit Guarantee. Not as robust as S75 and a feature rather than a right, but if it was a Visa card, then start the wheels in motion.

As I said before, I received my watch, plus a 50 quid gift voucher but yes, I agree, it's a st business model, and they've got some serious supply chain issues going on.

Personally, I doubt very much I'd use them again, regardless of how good the deal is ( and my deal WAS good - 300 quid watch for 150 quid)

Makes you wonder if what I was told about Nigel o'Hara, and posted a couple of pages back, does actually have some truth behind it. Like you guys I won't be using them in future.

I have your middle option, it's on the large side but other than that I'd recommend it, feature wise, it ticks your boxes. The non-black display is half the price on Amazon though.

How do G Shock prices in the US compare with the UK? Will be going there in a couple of weeks so might have a look to see what I can get if there is a decent saving to be made.

New one for my ever growing addiction/collection...

Limited Edition 30th Anniversary model.

Black and Gold with Carbon fibre strap.

I know the gold won't be to everyone's tastes but as I love G-Shocks, I just simply had to have this 30th anniversary model smile
