I've had a Lorus for years, tough as old boots and abused to hell and back and it still kept coming back for more.

Do any of you remember the Groupon deal for the Seiko snk805 on here before Christmas?

I got suckered into buying one and i think its great for the price. However, last week it started rattling and it looks like the rotor is coming loose and knocking against the case/glass back.

groupon customer service are being awkward trying to get out of me returning it. I created a video so show the problem because the guy was finding it difficult / being awkward to understand my description of the problem.

Do you think this is normal? It never rattled for the first month of wear.

It should be fairly simple and inexpensive for our resident watch repair man to have a look at...

On the look out for a Casio G Shock, any suggestions?

There is this from Argos http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/g-shock-casio-men-...
But prefer the look of the GA-100 models that seem to be going for £60+ on Amazon.
Might consider a Casio Solar watch as well.

I think with Gs it's down to what you like vs the budget you have (ie what you're willing to spend). I'm not a fan of many of the recommendations on PH but the joy of Gs is that no matter which one you go for, you can throw it at a brick wall and it will work afterwards.

Straightforward case of the auto weight coming unscrewed. Not exactly "common" but certainly not unknown. Very easy fix that would normally involve some coins in the RBL pot if you came into the shop with it smile

Than for the info, however..

After i made the video the store agreed to take it back. However, they have no green versions left so they are sending me a blue version.

To be honest, i was kinda expecting better from Seiko in regards to build quality. The watch is meant to retail at 185USD according to the box.

They're normally good. When I described this as "not unknown" i probably should have been more specific. It's not something I'd ever expect to see out of the factory but occasionally see in 2 - 3 year old watches.

Never worked out why it happens at all - the bearing is always good when it happens so there should be virtually no turning force on that centre post but re-tightening it is always a complete fix unless the watch has seen a LOT of use without servicing (like a decade or more). Even then it usually works.

I'm still not sure whether it trumps this one I bought as a piss-take for a mate. I won it on eBay for 1p. I actually felt guilty taking it off the seller, regardless of how ugly it is.
