Took the plunge on a Parnis auto from evilBay but went for one of the more simpler ones having seen some of the comments regarding the quality of others. Anyways, it was only £36 and looks a whole lot better for the Meyhofer Eindhoven strap (£13) so just fits in under budget.

Then I spotted this and it reminded me of my first watch.... £39.99 Wow Timex Indiglo - I had a Ironman Triathlon years ago following on from the Casio G Shock that met a untimely death. The timex is a nice bit of kit and I am yet to find another watch that has such a powerful back light. I recently killed my watch in a mountain bike accident so am on the lookout for a G shock or similar and came to this tread to look for inspiration - the thread has performed well!!!! If you haven't bought it already don't bother!! Mines stopped working already The digi bit is ok but the analogue has stopped. Taking it back tomorrow and swapping it for the Casio, I'll probably get both the red and blue one.

Bought the £14.99 black diver Casio instead. You sure you tried the right one? They're pretty big!

Any suggestions for something in the sub £50 price bracket, that looks similar to this? - I quite like the look of that Citizen but not the price as it will be worn inside the prisons where I work. The last thing I want is for it to get stolen or lost in there!

Most of the Parnis watches I see on ebay are based outside of the UK. Any experiences of having to pay import duties at all?
