In case anybody doesn't know, Amazon sometimes ships stuff in from outside the EU, with no warning.

If this happens with a watch, you get hit with duty + VAT + the carrier's import charges.

Naughty Amazon...

Just been to the Sates and chucked all my money at Levi's, Abercrombie, iPad Air, Apple TV, Adidas trainers and a Bose SoundLink Mini. Feeling rather chuffed at the rediculous savings I'd made on UK prices I suddenly remembered I actuially wanted to buy a decent watch. Since that was out of the window, my tiny budget only allowed for this:

It retails at £85 in the UK but I managed to bag it for just over £50 with sales tax from the U.S.

That's cool. What's the model? Is it quartz movement?

Here's the bumpf...
http://www.fossil.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Pr...

It's only £85 in the UK and $95 in the US but I was at a Fossil outlet when I saw it. 25% off or 50% off the total bill if you got 2 watches. My other half got a watch too. It was the cheapest of the three I liked but also the nicest.

I've worn a lot more expensive watches which haven't raised an eyebrow but 2 days after I got this, one of the airport staff came over and commented on it. It's great as a daily.

Thanks. I see they do an all black one too. Is it quartz? Doesn't state on the website.

Yeah it's quartz. They have some nice looking watches on their website. Plenty of choice for someone on a budget.

Although that particular Seiko 5 is a bit above budget, alas.

Bit of a thread resurrection, but I'd value some opinions.

I'm thinking of getting this, but will need to change the strap because I want it on a brown one to be worn with casual clothes.

Will it look OK on brown do you think? Anything else I should be looking at?

Yep. Bugs me that the hands are a bit narrow.

A quick Google suggests £60+ is the usual price wherever you shop.
