Still not had an email from him. Those of you who have had emails, did you buy from holicbox or ishvc on ebay itself?

I'm sure they are the same person though
I got the e-mail and it was from Holicbox

Now I am starting to worry it WAS too good to be true after all...

Quite a following. Don't want to get anybody's hopes up but they really are a lovely watch! Worth 5 times what you pay in my opinion!

Pics by all on arrival please!

I wouldn't worry... it was paid for on PayPal, getting money back will be easy.

I've emailed to get confirmation that they've received my payment and will be shipping the watch, so hopefully I'll be a bit more certain about it shortly!

You're right about paypal though, pretty much one click of the dispute button and you've got the cash back, so it's all gravy!

Well, I've just had a mail back from ivshc saying that my watch will be posted 9th or 10th and sent by HK post reg'd airmail, taking 4-12 days to get to the UK.

Much happier now!!! Roll on the back end of Feb!

LOL!

If only Seiko UK would release the Seiko 5 Automatics legit in the UK, they'd end up grabbing such a slice of market share, it would - in one fell swoop - destroy the market for nasty, tatty, "faux-cheap" quartz watches.

(I'm even wearing a highstreet-special Sekonda quartz watch as I type this, the 5 will be my new "work" watch so shall be getting bags of wrist time and I can consign this Sekonda to the "drawer of watch doom", left to tick it's battery life away in solitary!)

Does anyone know if/where you can buy the 'customised' dials and hands the guy on watchuseek is offering?

+1

I'd love to put that dial and hands on my Monster. So clean and simple.

I found that guy's For Sale page once, but never seen it again. Anyone got a link? I'm particularly after the Sinn-a-like ones to see if I get along with it before buying the real deal.

Have been reading this thread, but haven't ordered one as I have too many watches anyway. However, for those of you interested in modifications, here is a link which might interest you -

yobokies aka Harold, is based in Hong Kong and has a very good reputation for his modifications. Hope this helps smile

Never heard of the Seiko 5 until now - looks a very nice watch for daily use.

Would it be rude to buy both the Casio and the Seiko, great watches for under £50.

Casio MDV102 can be had for about £30. Analogue diver styley with a back light. Very solid watch for the money.
Found a few on ebay from a seller called 'istore4watch' has 1930 99.9% feedback so should be good.

Only thing though is will I have to pay extra vat etc? Ive never bought from overseas before.

^^ Depends where the watch is from...
I assume it's from the Far East, in which case if it gets stopped by customs you'll pay import duty of 10% and VAT.
I've had quite a few parcels sent to me that would be eligible for import tax, but they've never been inspected. smile

The seller is from the USA, California.

How do you pay the import and vat? At the post office or parcel depot?

Ta.

I think it depends between who ships.
You'll find pretty much all of what you need here and here.
