How many watches do you own?

Not in the conventional sense - My collection goes from Rolex and Glashutte Original to Seiko and I've had inexpensive watches by Poljot, Marathon, MKII etc. but I wouldn't entertain "fashion watches" like Guess, D&G, TW Steel, Emporio Armani, Fossil or Gucci. If that makes me a brand snob - so be it.

No, that simply means you have class. Not gonna list how many watches I have as it's erm... quite a few... but I have been collecting since I was young (still have the first watch I was ever given as a child, Texas Instruments LED!!) and I am certainly not a brand snob, although I do like G-Shocks for their brutal honesty (have 11 of those) and Oakley for thier designs and quality (have 5 of those).
I find "brand snobs" are far more likely being those who simply must have expensive watches only to look good to those around them and look at cheaper watches as "not classy enough".
Two Rolex (Sub and Airking), one Panerai Pam111, one Omega Railmaster and a Tag 2000 series I was given for my 18th, so five in total.
Despite the above, I wouldn't say I'm a brand snob. I just like nice watches.
eta, just tried to think of a non 'snob brand' watch I'd buy and couldn't so ignore my snob status denial !!

Let's see; my P&J a 15 year old JLC Master Chronograph, a Fossil for everyday wear (the first present my now wife bought me in 1993 - not doing bad for 17 years old!) plus my father's pocket watch which was his 21st present from my grandma in 1939 before being mobilised to North Africa, an Accurist presented to my grandfather for 25 years service in 1940 and my uncle's watch from about 1950. Not into modern trend for over-sized and heavy watches.

And yes, probably I *am* a brand snob. Actually, I'd refine that further to 'movement snob' - I'll freely admit I've got a chip on my shoulder about honesty of engineering. I'd much rather be seen wearing one of my two Seikos than aBreitling (caveat - Breitling have finally started making their own movements. Good for them, and I won't be using them as an example any more) Hublot Big Bang - regardless of the tradition and expense that Hublot bring to the table, the BB uses an off-the-shelf movement and yet costs manufacture-movement money. You wouldn't catch me dead with a 'fashion' watch with a clothes label brand plastered on a £5 quartz piece being sold for 20 times that, that's for sure.
But my definition of 'snob' would probably perplex most non-watch-geeks - I consider Seiko a true manufacture, for example, and whilst I'd rate my neo-Monster as a more 'honest' and better watch than my Porsche Design quartz chrono, the PD cost 10x the money, and most non-watch-geeks would say the PD was 'snobbier' than the Seiko.
I'm currently wearing a watch with a movement from the Liaoning Watch Factory, a Chinese outfit known for making clone copies of the famous Valjoux 7750 and therefore the source of all of the 'good' fake chronograph watches out there. That makes me a bad boy, but the Liaoning movement I'm wearing right now was actually designed and built by Liaoning themselves... not a copy of someone else's... which blurs the lines somewhat, but I absolutely love it (it's the BHI tourbillon, BTW).
To rate my 'brand snobbiness' - I'd also add one question to the OP's list - 'what is the best watch marque' - and I'd answer Jaeger LeCoultre. I guess *that*, in itself, makes me a watch snob

i'm just starting out collection and currently only have one watch - a panerai luminor chrono. I like automatic watches as i'm just fascinated how they can keep going perpetually. I wouldn't buy a rolex a tag or a brittling as i dont want to be recognised to be owning an expensive watch - in the industry i work is better for people not to see expensive watches on your wrist..if it happens to be an expensive watch that most people haven't heard of then im happy.
im not saying i'm a brand snob but maybe a bit of a history snob..a brand needs to have a story and a legacy to appeal to me..i wouldn't by art from Ikea and i wouldn't buy a watch from D+G. hope im making sense!
the next watch on my list is a Breguet - WOW - i recently read a blog about them http://www.iconicwatches.co.uk/our-blog/?p=44 and they have a truly amazing history they are next on my list!!
does anyone here wear a breguet and if so which one and what do you think of it?

Just three
Rolex Submariner Date in stainless for daily wear
Rolex Daytona Gold on Gold with red sweep for special occasions
MTM Blackhawk for doing "dirty" jobs (like changing the oil, going to the range or hunting terrorists )
So - with the inclusion of the last one - don't consider myself a brand snob just timepieces suited for purpose...
