How many watches do you own?
Discussion
I've been collecting watches since i was 16 (51 now) and have around 2000 of them
they're stored in boxes and bags all over the house, i really ought to get a safe fitted as when i'm trying to find a particular watch (not that i can remember what i have!) it's a bit of a game, i have a citizen auto that i put 'somewhere safe' about ten years ago and i've never seen it since
I'm not a snob when it comes to watches and have everything from Breitling to Sekonda (and some old Brit watches that are worse than the Ruskies )
there are only around 50 watches that i ever wear so i dunno why i have the rest...
a heck of a lot are non-runners, just for parts as i like to 'get them going!!'
look out fleabay!!!!

HOW do you choose which watch to wear in the morning!? Sounds like a most fantastic collection they're stored in boxes and bags all over the house, i really ought to get a safe fitted as when i'm trying to find a particular watch (not that i can remember what i have!) it's a bit of a game, i have a citizen auto that i put 'somewhere safe' about ten years ago and i've never seen it since

my everyday watch...
John
Hi I have been looking on this forum and reading the posts with interest for a while now and thought I'd now say hello and chip in with my 2 pence worth.
3 watches so far.......
1 TAG Heuer 2000 exclusive, black dial, Quartz, Weekend watch was a daily for 7 years.
1 Raymond Weil automatic black croc strap for work (goes well with a suit)
1 Accurist metal strap blue dial, for when either of the above are in for servicing/mending - I try and wear it as little as possible as it sratches my wrist and feels horrible!
So many watches that I would love but money doesn't grow on trees in my road......!!

I've come to the conclusion that my watch habit has got out of hand so I'm rationalising, and selling off some of the expensive stuff I don't wear regularly enough to justify owning.
I'd like to get the collection down to 5 watches for various uses, but I doubt I'll ever be able to do that...
I have a solution that can save you from selling off your collection.I'd like to get the collection down to 5 watches for various uses, but I doubt I'll ever be able to do that...
What you can do is keep the collection at my house, a bit like a private museum for me. Except I get to wear them.
This makes much more sense...well for me it would.
I just have the one now I am back to being a poor student, although when contracting over Summer I may treat myself to something else.
Just a Raymond Weil Tango for me at the moment, that I wear daily.

A swatch, a g-shock, mercedes branded quartz dress watch, a quartz watch designed to look like the clock on the dash of my merc, a limited edition quartz tissot which looks vaguely like a frank muller (sp?), an early seiko kinetic diver's, a re-edition heuer gmt, a re-edition heuer Monaco, another re-edition Monaco but with the crown on the correct side, a red reduced speedy, a navitimer, a rolex gmt II, a panerai logo chronometer and an xxl oris.
As to whether I am a brand snob, probably not - as I've been reminded before, I could have bought a proper watch instead 2 monacos...
A used heuer monza re-edition would be nice to add, as would an ultra thin jaeger or a calatrava.
