got home today from a day out, walked into the kitchen and felt something touch my hand - looked down and it was my SDDS!

basically one of the screw links had completely worked itself out and the watch was free to fall.

firstly two things to be thankful for - firstly it happened at home (I had a heavy coat on most of the day so there is a possibility I might not have felt it fall off) and secondly I caught it before it hit the floor.

on the down side - this is not a cheap watch and this really should not happen - I was lucky to find the pin and have not screwed it in with a bit of threadlock.

mind you it did happen to me a few years ago with a Tag - i wrote them a polite letter and they basically told me to sod off as the bracelet is not covered by the warranty.

not sure whether to make a fuss of this - is it worth it?

It shouldn't happen on a 2,190 Euro Bracelet, this owner thinks!

This would be one of the removable links?

If so, it is probably down to whoever sized the bracelet

You'll probably only get an apology and the jeweller will check the other links if there are more extra links, and tighten them up, but you might be able to turn it to your advantage and get a discount, or at least have them owe you a favour sometime.

This sort of thing happens even if its a bit of a shock when it does. I had an IWC DoppleChrono (about 6 grand new), sent it off for a service when it came back I pressed the Chrono pusher and it shot off to the other side of the room when I released it! That was a shock too! But it got worse when they tried to charge me postage to get it back after they repaired their handwork..sold it after this experience..

With something that heavy surely you'd notice if it dropped off. Like you'd start walking upright again instead of leaning to one side.
