I watched Quantum of Solace the other night just to see my watch.
You win.
Yeah, that's pretty extreme. Like watching lame b-movies like 'Lucky Number Slevin' just because it heavily features an IWC Aquatimer Chrono.... boxedin

Try counting the number of different watches that James May wears in each episode of Toy Story. There are at least 3. One is a Rado, tho others....

Would also like to know what Charlie Boardman had slung round his wrist in his latest epic. Looks a lot like a Hamilton Jazzmaster, but not exactly.

James has a number of watches. See here: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/home/moslive/article-51...

Anyone see the Bolivia challenge edition of Top Gear? Hamster wearing a Breitling Chrono (Avenger perhaps?), Clarko back wearing his PO after sporting a Railmaster for a while

ETA Probably Bremont. Charlie Boorman and Ewan McGregor were sponsored by Bremont on their Long Way Round/Up/Down and he did an instore appearance at Jura Watches for a Bremont event recently.

Yes, James has some seriously nice pieces. Another favourite of mine is Simon Cowell, he has some serious metal strapped to his wrist. In my opinion he has very good taste in watches.

Vladimir Putin wears some pretty serious stuff smile

I spotted him wearing some maniac Franck Muller ultra-complications (whether it worked or not, I don't know - but if the customer is Putin then I bet the Swiss damn well made sure it all worked properly) at some summit or other (heh).

He also tends to switch watches a lot, and wears interesting pieces. Unlike Obama, who is boring in extremis when it comes to watches.

There was a press conference including one of the oligarchs who no one knows who they are, he was a fairly rotund chap in a cheap looking gray suit wearing a....Greubel Forsey. Putin gave one of his watches away iirc whilst visiting a factory - one of the cheeky (vodka fuelled no doubt) chappies asked him if he could see the watch and he just handed it over and carried on. It was a Patek or something else ludicrous.

ETA - a Blancpain apparently...

"Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin visited an arms factory in the town of Tula south of Moscow this Monday. A factory worker asked for Putin’s watch tongue in cheek after the prime minister admitted times were tough for ordinary people.

After Putin’s speech on the economy, the metalworker Viktor Zagaevsky approached Putin and said, “Vladimir Vladimirovich, maybe you’ll give me something to remember you by?”

Obviously unable to think of an appropriate souvenir, Mr Putin jokingly asked the man what he wanted. “Maybe your watch,” the worker replied.

A little bit shocked for a moment, Mr Putin promptly took off his watch and gave it away to the man. Then it’s the man’s turn to be stunned."

He also gave a shepard he met a watch for the shepards sons birthday - he's obviously not got time to flip his watches the usual way!

American business bigwigs tend to be sensitive about their watches.

If you're going to talk to the Unions, they'll wear a Timex. If it's the lawyers, then the Cartier will be fine.

Obama seems to switch between a TAG and a tacky "Secret Service" chrono.
