Omega - Old Seamaster and others
Discussion
Hi All,
was just wondering really the value of this old seamaster I have. it’s a 551 cal movement and I think it’s from the late 50's. it’s in fairly good nick for the age. not too sure on the gold ring on the wall of the face as it gives off a champaign colour in some lights. is it worth anything maybe looking to trade it in for something else
while I am here I will show off some of my other watches :-)
Rolex GMT 11
love this watch yes it’s a Rolex and a bit common but hell I like it
latest purchase
Seiko 5
great watch for the money, just wish they had done something with the pins in the strap as it feels a little cheap compared to the watch itself... but who am I to complain at that price
P.s yes I should have cleaned them before taking photos! ;-)

Welcome Rob
Have a look here: http://www.austinkaye.co.uk/Products/Pre-Owned-Wat... as this might give you an idea. Note that these are retail prices so I guess they would offer you somewhere around 50-60% of the price they would sell it for as a trade-in against something else.
I'd be inclined to keep it. I see a vintage Omega as the perfect dress watch and would love to add one to my collection. And if it's been handed down through the family it's got sentimental value and perhaps a nice story behind it...
Nothing wrong with the GMT IIc - not sure they are 'that' common yet!

thanks spice! they dont seem to command much money and your right the only time i have worn it is as a dress watch.
nice section of cars there! had a 996 c2 a few years back still miss it... went for a 997 but still miss the drive of the 996 (dont miss the interior though :-)
Thanks. The 996 is something of a weekend car so with the use it gets I can't really justify getting something newer. Agree the interior is a bit spartan but the car is still pretty raw compared with a 997, ie no PSM or traction control etc. Plus the PSE is wired open so it sounds loud all the time! nice section of cars there! had a 996 c2 a few years back still miss it... went for a 997 but still miss the drive of the 996 (dont miss the interior though :-)
Would love a GT3 but need the rear seats for the kids, though my six month old son has not been in the 996 yet!
If I could swap my daily mile muncher plus the 996, I would definitely look at getting a 997 and would run it as an everyday car.
