No problem, it was up for £250, I paid a little less than that.
I've been doing lots of research to try and see if I can find out more about it, some places seem to indicate price is pretty much bang on, others that it is worth far more?! I didn't buy it to flip it so the 'value' wasn't (and isn't) too much of a consideration, but with a possible JLC purchase on the horizon a few sales may be required! smile

Oh and thanks! thumbup
What do you have in mind? smile Out of interest, and this may sound a bit strange, how old are you? I've always thought from some of your previous posts that you were a similar age to me (23 yrs old), but I'm interested to know through your choice of watches! Hope you don't mind! hehe

A Jaeger LeCoultre Master Hometime, the previous gen model. IMO a far prettier watch than the current.
Pics can be found here.smile
I am indeed of similar age, I'm 22. Most people think I'm older than I am, confusingly I look younger than I am, but I'm an old man really!
Oh and I don't mind being asked at all! smile

My watch collection follows no real logic, beyond my love of Omegas, a variety of movements and buying what I like! smile

22+23=45 paperbag

Ahem, anyway, it's a nice clean watch though, I've been having a look at older stuff recently and typically tending towards the higher prices (which I can't justify at the moment) so started looking for something a little more modestly priced like this one - good find, I think there's a lot of value out there if you get the time to sniff around.

There certainly is. The Constellation was an absolute steal as well! I see there are several on TZ at the moment for around £300ish. If I wasn't thinking of buying something else, I'd be snapping them up!

Oh and don't worry about the age! wink Who cares!?

I've only just seen this as most hosted pics aren't allowed at work, it's like living in China, - flipping brilliant, very nice indeed, I'm sure you've seen it but here's a bit of '62 nostalgia:

Scott Carpenter and his astronaut:
Ooooh, hadn't seen that. Thanks!

Quite small, 34mm rings a bell off the top of my head.
It wears very nicely though, it feels a little larger than that, not much different to my mid-size Seamaster. smile

-Fingers crossed- Parnis eBay auction ends tomorrow. I'm in the lead smile I don't know much about watches but it's not expensive and I like the look of it. Plus it's about time I had a watch!

I love reading this forum! This is the one I am waiting for after picking up an interest in watches late last year

I looked at Panerai, IWC, JLC et al but decided that I can't make that leap yet unfortunately. So for now I wanted something that has dual time zone and was pretty understated and simple in design (JLC Reverso is my grail watch) so I found this and was quite taken with it.

Yes, I know it is quartz, and that it is a "fashion" brand, the sort I thought I'd never go with (I'm really not a fan of Gucci, Chanel, D&G etc) but I like the fact that the features are hidden until you activate them and that the appearence is subtle otherwise. I've never seen one before, nor heard of it before this week, so there is a chance that it isn't to my taste on the wrist but we shall see.
Oh dear. Nice enough watch but doesn't suit me in the slightest. Too small and too "edgey" in design for my wrist. I'm pretty disappointed as I was really looking forward to my first purchase, but it's back to searching for something more suitable for me frown

Thanks. The watch is a Seiko 6138-3002 automatic chronograph from October 1975.

I bought it privately from a watch collector.

+2. That Seiko is beautiful. Very simple and elegant. Seems like qute a large dial for a vintage watch too. Thought that larger faces were a more modern development.

My first post on the watch forum - had a weekend up in Edinburugh and bought a Rolex Deep Sea - i love it and it fits in with my Brietling Avenger and Omega Planet Ocean.
May even have a go at posting some pictures up a bit later.
