Hi All

Am trying to pick out a watch which I will be buying over the next few months. What do people think of this:

Incidentally how much should I be paying for this?

Would this be considered a classic timepiece in years to come? i.e something I can hand down to my Son.

No idea on value, but I would say that it isn't as classic as something like a Tank or a Balon Bleu. Ultimately though, you've got to wear it so it only really counts that you like it...

Pasha series is the weakest design in the Cartier series. Hasn't aged well at all imho.

I'm not a fan to be honest, I think it looks a bit cheap considering it is by Cartier.

As the others said, not a big fan.

Too simple and given the brand probably overpriced. I'm unsure if there is enough detail or design implemented to have someone feel really passionate about that.

If you like Cartier try the Roadster.

I always felt Cartier was trying too hard with the Pasha line. This particular Pasha isn't, but it's still not one of my favorites. In Cartier's line, my favorites are really the Santos and the Ballon Bleu.

Much prefer Cartier Tank to this one, i'm afraid.

Tank Solo/Tank Louis Cartier do look more special. Nicer design and shape of it.

Ok- so on more consideration I think the Pasha is out.. I do like it but your right in saying its not special enough.

I do like these two watches..what are the model names? The Cartier website is horrendous to navigate through.

Does anyone know how much these would be?
It is going to be a wedding present from the brides family to me so have to make sure they are still within their price range.

Does it have to be a Cartier?

Do you know what sort of budget the buyer has in mind?

It doesnt have to be Cartier but the wife-to-be has a penchant for them - She got a Cartier engagement ring so she kind of likes the idea I have a Cartier watch too. I dont know what the exact budget is, but I think £7500 would be tops but idealy I would not like to spend more than £5000. Is this way too low for a Cartier?

Excuse my ignorance as I know very little about watches but am hoping to educate myself in the coming few weeks.

Lucky man! I understand your point on going for a Cartier, but that sort of budget opens you up to some of the high-end watch houses - Breguet, Jaeger Le Coultre, IWC, Patek Phillippe, Glashutte. A Lange & Sohne etc.

Something from any of those would be a great heirloom for your first-born son!

The ones you pick out all seem quite feminine and dressy? Just an observation rather than a judgement, but may impact heirloom status and whether it would be suitable to wear day to day.

I just bought an IWC Portuguese 7 day automatic, I absolutely love it. Can be had for mid 5 RRP 7.3k so perhaps worth a look. May not be your cup of tea of course, watches are so personal.
