Porsche Military watch

That's like a PVD version of a Heuer Bund, even down to the Tritium sign on the face to denote the radioactivity of the hour marks.
It's actually a Porsche Orfina Bund 5100It's part of the extensive Lemania 5100 Military 'family'
There are also Tutima and Arctos versions of the same watch.
It looks to be in good nick and with the bracelet I'd say £1000 was definitely high but not overly excessive. Remember the PVD is a bugger to recondition.

I'd say around a thousand, that one looks like it's never been out of the box though. I've seen a fair few that have the PVD worn off on the edges but how long it takes depends on use I guess. I think it just adds some character to the watch anyway. Excellent rugged little chrono, although I'm a bit of a 5100 fan anyway I must admit. ETA - if it's a true Bund i.e. issue it'll have that on the back - or some extra marking if it wasn't German forces. This is only important if you're collecting or want that link, because the watches are the same - cool!

there seem to be so many versions of these kicking around
some say orfina some just have a trademark that I think is the orfina or PD sign.
some seem to have lemania movements and some have val 7750 all in all very confusing
I just want one because a they look cool and b they wore them in the proffesionals.
prices are all over the place obviously depends on condition a lot.
I see the price has dropped for that one you are looking at. recently overhall by orfina
But Don't forget import tax
as you have mailed him don't forget the pictures when it arrives
compared to this one below it looks like about the right price if the guy is freindly enough to be creative with the value when shipping otherwise 20% or so extra for import tax
this one sold for $1500 uk sale so no tax but has a different face, with the PD symbol on it.

Cool, there's only a quartz (241?) movement that has the centre min/sec chrono now, I think it's the clearest way to do it, Precista (eddie from TZ-UK) are thinking of doing one but apart from that you have to go Lemania, who stopped making them a few years back.
Let us know how you find it in use - you'll not lose anything if you decide to flip it later either.
Good one.

Wonderful. I have the Tutima Nato (military) with the same movement and an almost identical dial and hand set but a much more chunky looking titanium case. Centre minutes is definitely the best layout for fast reading of elapsed time. The Lemania 5100 is not the prettiest movement but it is very tough, ISTR it can take 7g acceleration in any plane without disrupting the movement making it an obvious choice for a military watch (if one assumes you have to have a mechanical movement).
Here it is with the original Porsche Design PVD black metallic bracelet.
I'm not sure I don't prefer the bund now I've swapped it over. It will be my daily wearer for now, so I think I'll try it for a week or so with each, and see how I get on. The bund strap is more unusual, interesting to see how the strap makes quite a difference to the appearance of the watch on your wrist.
