I've posted this on another forum, so I hope you don't mind a duplicate topic!

I need a bit of advice ... I placed an order for a Ball Hydrocarbon Classic I from a well known online retailer named after a particular place in Switzerland wink It's taken over a week to find out the status of my order - Originally I was told that the piece would be ordered direct from Ball and would take a week to arrive. On the day of delivery, I chased up the watch and was told the Purchasing Department was still trying to source the piece frown No problem, I'll wait.

I chased this up again today to find out where the watch was and an estimated delivery date - I don't mind if it takes another 4 weeks, but at least I'd know smile It seems fair enough, considering they have charged my credit card and I will be settling my statement at the beginning of next month!

I've been told that the EHC I has been discontinued and Ball no longer produce the model. Instead they have sourced the 'last remaining piece' from a retailer in a foreign country. The watch will then be sent to Ball before being dispatched to the store I purchased from. I have also been told that any marks/scratches that may be apparent will be polished out by themselves.

It all seems a bit messy and considering the value of the watch, I feel like backing out and finding something else - Ball or otherwise. However I really, really like the EHC I ... I'm just not keen on the idea that it may need polishing when it's brand new and the fact that I'm sure there are jewellers with this watch in-stock in the UK.

The only benefit from buying from them is the 10% discount I received ...

What would you do?

If they have already taken payment (and the watch is on it's way) it maybe too late to cancel the order.

If the manufacturer themselves are giving it the once over then hopefully all should be fine.

Can I not take advantage of the distance selling regulations if I allow the watch to arrive and it's not as I expected?
